As far as the scratches go, I'd try a professional detailer close to you. You can also purchase a real da polisher, and some good pads, and give that a go. They are very user friendly if you use good techniques and products.
Harbor freight sells one similar to the Griots garage polisher for a descent price, $60~. That should take care of the majority of the scratches, except the ones that are deep enough to catch your fingernail.
