Sealant comparisson

Hello,

I am a newbie so this question might seems weird but here it goes ;)

I love Nu Finish, it does a great job and is cheap. Latelly I have been watching a lot of videos and some of them use seriously expensive stuff (Ammo Skin comes to mind).

What are the differences between a product like Ammo Skin, or Jetseal 109 and Nu Finish? Is it worth the extra money?

If you love nu finish stick to it. Some on the forum love it.

Difference is huge nu finish hands down best out there

I'm not doubting the results of Nu Finish but if it was that good wouldn't more people try it out? Or maybe because its such an old product and an OTC product that not enough people are willing to try it out? I know Klasse was made in 1973 but not sure when it came over here though. Wax/sealants are like that pretty girl, your all about her and check her out but when that next one comes down the street.........

I agree. My vehicles also look clean even when dirty since I moved up in products.

You know, I never thought about this before but it is absolutely TRUE. That said, "moved up in products" also means "prep surface better" by virtue of those products and proper technique.

Check out Collinite 476s

Cheap and I forgot where I read that said, you can pass it down to your son because it lasts so long.

I have used it on 10 cars and still have a TON!!! of it left!!!

For cheap lasting protection I dont think you can beat a sealant...Colli 845 is about the best bang for your buck sealant out there...Next would be Menzerna Powerlock (only bc the price but it looks better IMHO)...Rounding out the last would be the new BFWD for me personally...

Colli 845 can be had for $17 shipped which makes it a killer deal

It means your money may be getting separated from your wallet at a ratio that is disproportionate from the rate that is proper for a well performing wax selling at a MUCH lower price point that in all likelihood will perform just as good, and have absolutely no visible differences to the human eye when used on 'real world' vehicles. ;)

I'm pretty sure I came across the EXACT same definition from Webster's.

:dblthumb2:

2. What’s the difference between the auto waxes; No. 845 Insulator Wax, No. 476s Super Double Coat and the No. 915 Marque D’ Elegance?
All 3 last step waxes serve the same function: to provide a high gloss carnauba shine and lasting protection. All 3 contain copious amounts of wax-both rare Brazilian carnauba and premium synthetic polymers. However, their degree of durability, ease of use, and warmth of shine vary. Think of it this way;

1. No.476s – most durable protection/weather defense. Most elbow grease required during application.
2. No. 915- 2nd most durable and slightly easier than the 476s to apply/remove. No. 915 lends our warmest shine to dark tones like navy and black due to its highest concentration of rare carnauba.
3. No. 845- easiest of the 3 to apply/remove with slightly less durability than the No. 915.

845 not a sealant
^^^:iagree:^^^...That Collinite #845 is not a Sealant!!

Like everyone is saying. What are your expectations ? You want to have your vehicles look like ... Duragloss, Collinite, etc. Whatever helps you to achieve the desired results is what you use.

Holly smokes get some bf or wg sealant and be done with it. The look from either one of these sealants will be just as good as any collinite product and last just as long:)

I like to test the products I use on my 3 daily drivers. So if you like Nu-Finish, pick up some DG or Colly and do half your car with Colly and half with Nu-Finish. See which looks better, last longer and is easier to work with for you.

Like others have said, find what works for you and stick with it. Perfect your application and technique with the those products.

WGDGPS 3.0 is by far the slickest and the best looking sealant I have used. It's expensive but the durability is well worth the cost.

There is one thing I do not like about Nu Finish and I noticed that today on a project I did. If there is a deep scratch, and I do not remove it, Nu Finish will fill it and it will pop as a white line.

Do other sealants do this as well? How about Cleaner Waxes?
