Hey Everyone!

So the detail of my Honda Civic is on its final leg...last night i put clearkote carnauba wax on the car (it has a 24 hour cure time). Being that the civic has a very soft clear coat, i want to top it with something else. O and the color is dark blue with flakes...pics to come this afternoon

The hardest sealant i have is DG 105 but being that it's a polish and a sealant, it will remove the wax already on the car...so not sure about that.

Other Choices:

liquid souveran wax
SSII carnaube paste

or should i just apply a second coat of the clearkote carnauba?

Thanks for the assist!

I always say sealant (more durable) and then wax (less durable). Being that you started with a wax, I would say to do another coat or two of the Clearkote Carnuba Wax. It will increase the shine and the durability.

In general do not apply sealant over carnauba, but there are exceptions.

Many spray sealants work fine over carnauba. Also, try a coat of DWG over the carnuaba layer then a sealant...works fine. Also some use a WOWA sealant (like OS) over carnauba.

ok so then if no sealant over top of the wax is it best to stick with the clearkote carnauba or should i put ssII or liquid souveran?

and if the clearkote has a 24 hr cur time then do i have to wait a full 24 b4 applying a second coat?

Supercharged said it best! I would go with a second coat to increase durability.

You could stick with CMW for a second coat or try one of the other carnauba based waxes you have. CMW is pretty durable and if you like it, I'd stick with it. I would wait at least 12 hours between coats.
