Wondering if it's ok to top an AIO with a paint sealant.

as long as you did the prep work first and are satisfied with the results of the AIO, then yes.

Agree - use BF TPNS with BF Crystal Seal - then hit again with BFMS. Next experiment - CS then BF black ice... Then maybe some BFMS as maintenance over that.

I'm addicted.

I would just ask why? Why not just do a polish then seal, TO ME it kinda defeats my purpose for using an AIO All In One meaning ONE STEP. lol

A Sealant over a Sealant-AIO..Sure!!

One Example:
Many people (including myself) use Klasse AIO in order to "prep the paint" before applying KLasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze.

Would depend on the sealant/AIO combo too. I believe there are some sealants that require bare paint for optimal longevity.

Which Sealants do you have in mind?

Out of all the Sealants I've ever used, none of their directions ever stated that they require bare paint for optimal longevity.

Sonax PNS I beleive. Will double check can when I get home.

I stand corrected, doesn't say that on PNS.

Now I need to figure out where I saw this idea.

Most manufacturers market their products under with the expectation that you are not using any other competing product - so they will have a bias towards "bare paint" being the optimal receiver of their sealant.

Have never had good durability when topping an AIO. Sealants are designed to bond to bare paint. You are going to degrade the life of your sealant by putting it on top of another LSP.

If you are using an AIO why not just use a medium grade polish, do an IPA wipedown, and let the sealant work like it's supposed to?

I agree with this. Doing an extra step of sealing kind of defeats the purpose of an AIO imo

That's what I'm thinking. Why use an AIO 1-step if it won't be the final step? A dedicated polish followed by a sealant application would make more sense to me. Same amount of time too, with better results (in theory).

forgive the newbie question, but why would a sealant work after an AIO. Wouldn't the wax in the AIO keep the sealant from bonding? Second, how are y'all judging how long your protection last. I've read about products not lasting long or premature failure when layering, so how does one judge when their protection has failed? loss of beading ability? Again, sorry for newb question but appreciate your response.

That's all good & well...
But that's not really what the OP was asking about.

•And it still begs the question regarding the recommended
processes of products like: "The Klasse Twins".
