I want the best of both world, durability of sealant and warmth of wax. Since wax only last for 4-6 weeks, and if I were to use sealant and wax combo, can I put another layer of wax after 4-6 weeks? Or Do I have start the process all over again by applying a polish to remove the sealant and wax? I prefer to keep re-applying new layers of wax over the sealant for at least 3-4 months before starting process over again.

Any recommendations? Otherwise, I will just stick with sealant.

You can relayer the wax as long as it doesn't have any cleaners in it.

And if you let it cure. Usually about an hour. Sometimes more or less.

I think he means after the old wax has already worn off. He wants to do this every 4-6 weeks.

From your experience, when do you know the wax start wearing off before putting a new coat? And how layers of wax can you put on before starting the process over again? I don't mind waxing monthly, but I want the sealant as the underlayer for durability.

Depending on the climate you can get a sealant durability of a few months. Wax as often as you would like. You don't have to start over from scratch after a could of weeks. Make sure the polish used prior to the sealant did not contain Carnauba or you might have bonding issue which would lead to durability issues. Since storm as approached I wax our (wife & I) cars about every two weeks and I use a wax booster in between. When the end of the season gets here I plan on starting over again.

I am in a similar boat lately, I love the look of Souveran but need better durability. So .... I use a sealant (UPP, EXP) and then coat with Souveran. Keep it up weekly with Crystal Mist, and add another layer of wax every 3-4 weeks. I get about 3 months prior to needing a complete strip and redo.

I have Pinnacle Liquid Souveran and Natty's Blue (brand new) sitting on the shelve for 8 months and need to utilize my supplies better. Currenlty, I am using the combo of Klasse AIO and EXP and will top with either Souveran or Natty for durability and warmth look.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Since I have joined AG I have started a routine of complite strip down and applying sealant evry 3 months and just topping with Nattys blue every month with PB spray n gloss in between monthly waxing. I usely keep my truck clean enough for just PB spray n wash so the whole process remains pretty easy.

not to hijack the thread but what is the best way to completley remove the old wax before applying a new layer

Why??? if your going to do that you might just as well start all over again, what ever you use your possibly be removing sealer along with it.......

I would just keep topping with a pure wax till your next strip down cycle

He's right. Plus, if decide to polish again, that will take everything off anyways.
