Sealant/Wax for a black Jeep

Wanted to hear your opinion on the best sealant and wax for a Brilliant Black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Going to get a pre winter detail on in late October and I'm looking for the most durable (and pretty) sealant and wax. Thanks for the knowledge. :xyxthumbs:

Klasse AIO/Klasse Sealant, simple, efficient, durable, proven and affordable.

Fwiw, a lot of how the car looks is in the preparation. It's not always the wax or sealant. :)

Can't argue with the twins, just apply the 2nd coat of KSG 12 hrs later to ensure total coverage, not to mention how much better it will actually look afterwards! Something about that 2nd coat!! Do a search for tips and tricks on applying KSG properly, you'll be glad you did. If you can't find them, drop me a PM if you decide to go with "the twins".

Another staple in my collection is Duragloss products. Its hard to pick between them but one things for sure, you'll wanna get some #601 (polish bonding agent). This makes the product last longer and enables you to do multiple layers back to back to back, if you want to, LOL! DG #105 is a nice product as its got great looks w/ some cleaners in it too. DG #105 offers good looks and even more cleaners, so depending on your paints conditon after claying, you'll be able to chose between the 2 of these but for your LSP, you'll wanna top the #105/601 or #501/601 combo with #111, a pure sealant and I would do 2x's #111, just make sure you add the #601 to that mix as well. The ratio is 4:1 (4 parts #105, 501 or #111 and 1 part #601)

Finally there's Collinite, all 3 work VERY well but its said #476 lasts the longest, #915 has the best shine AND lasts a very long time and #845 is a combo of the both but in liquid form, well when its warm out and the bottle is outside, otherwise you'll need to to place it in a containner of hot water, this stuff hardens up when its room temps.

I'm starting to think two coats of 845 might be the right idea.
 
Klasse Sealant, trust me and Klasse, two coats, shine to the max and rock hard. You asked about winter prep, that fits the bill. Down here in Fla. we're the direct opposite, summer is our winter, massive uv rays, lots of rain and road dirt etc. Winter, no rain lower uv, less crap on the paint. I did my wifes white altima with two coats Klasse sealant and am maintaning with Sonus Spray. It rained hard today, beading like no tomorrow. No water spots or etching.

 
Think about Wolfgang products, then top it with some 845. Very durable combo.
 
Klasse combo $35.00 hard to beat that and it's enough for ALOT of applications.

So lets say I'm sold on the Collinite products. If I was going to do two layers what's the best option.....

845 then 915
845 then 476
476 then 915

Or something not listed.

And yes the paint will be washed, clayed and polished before.

I would just get one of the 3 and do multiple layers of that. Not point in buying all 3.... Yet ;)

If it were me, I would use just one.
I would apply a second layer just to ensure coverage.
Keep in mind; Durability decreases as ease of use increases in this order:
476-915-845
 
So the big question is, for what looks like a rough winter here in the mid Atlantic, the best option would be two layers of 476 correct?

I obviously still want it to look great but sense it needs to hold up to salt and sand spray for three months the 476 should be a nice layer of armor.
 
Got my new Rupes this past week and wanted to try it out on my ride.

Used the following combo for the first time:

Light polish with Wolf's " The Jeweler " & white pad

Wolfgang Sealant 3.0 one coat used LC blue pad (set for 45 minutes super easy removal)

Wolfgang Fuzion hand applied two coats 12 hours between.

Bam!

 
On a black car, keeping in mind both durability and looks, (and assuming you're not interested in a coating), I'd just get Collinite 915, apply two layers to ensure even and complete coverage, and be done.
 
915 on my 2012 WK2 Summit looks awesome and stays awesome through the winter.
 
How much time between coats should I wait. I know with a sealant it's typically 6-12 hours, but I've never done back to back layers of wax.
 
I usually just apply a second coat (of either wax or sealant) after the next wash, but otherwise, I'd try and wait four hours or so.
