Alright I finally give up. I have tried many different combinations on this paint for that wet/pop/wow factor and cant seem to find a good choice. Closet I have gotten is WGDGPS topped with Nattys Blue. Which is what is on in the picture below. Now I now Wolfgang might be best but I need something that can be applied for the not able to wait 12-24 hours to cure times. As in the morning before a show etc.

So far I have tried...

Supernatural
BFWD
Nattys Blue
Nattys Red
Concourse 50/50
Pinn. LS
PB EX-P
Auto. HD

This color is such an off color, anyone have a suggestion on a wax or sealant that would look best on this color/hue?

I hate the product, but jetseal can be topped in a short time.

Try Duragloss 501, then DG601 and WGDGPS. The 601 flash cures whatever sealant you mix it with. Then top with AG HD, Victoria Mayhem, or even one of my favorites - Pinnacle Signature Series II. Everything I keep reading about Duragloss though, seems like 501/601/105 produces a nice wet look and is very durable.

Friend of mine has Jetseal and I have never been impressed with any paint that has been on. Its a great wheel sealant though.

Tried some of those listed. But I am looking for someone who has waxed/sealed a car close to this color that got that wet/wow/pop look. WGDGPS seems to be the closet and AG HD did not look that great on this color.

Ummm ... you have already tried some of the top waxes and sealants available ... maybe you have hit the protectant ceiling and will never see a significant improvement, no matter what you apply to the car.

I have tried numerous waxes on my black S2000--Souveran, Fuzion, Vintage, Best of Show, BFWD, Midnight Sun--and while I think I may have seen subtle differences, the differences are so subtle I suspect they more in my head than on the paint. I do know, however, that the biggest improvements in my car's finish have come from polishing, not from waxes.

I'm not sure I understand why the 12+ hour cure time is a problem for you. There is no reason, e.g., why you could not apply Fuzion (or any other wax or sealant) the morning before a show. And if you think you need two coats, then apply the first the day before and the second the next morning.

I certainly don't want to discourage a person from spending more money on waxes, but I've been down that road, looking for that "special" look, and I'm convinced it's a dead-end. But if you have the money and really want to try out one more wax, then I suggest, spend the bucks on a tub of Fuzion. If Fuzion doesn't cut it, nothing will. But it may be that you'd be better served by investing in a bottle of Menzerna PO85RD and spending a few hours jeweling your car's paint.

By the way, your car looks great! :props:

Yeah I agree the protectant cailing has been hit on the the car. Its just after all those hours of buffing and polishing I want the LSP to make the paint pop. My problem I just cant find that sealant or wax that goes best with this color. Since most waxes are preferred to a certain color or hue, this one seems to be in the gray area. But yeah Fuzion is the only one I have not tried. I probably should get some of that soon.

Also I have no problem applying WG the day before but not all times it happens that way. So I am just trying to find that good waxes for times when it has to be done a few hours before a show. That and for future customer cars I might have that are in that gray area for the best suited wax/sealant to make the vehicle stand out.

My thought for that color either Four Star UPP or DoDo Hard Candy

Thanks! Will look into one of those. :dblthumb2:

Have any #16? UPP topped w/#16 is a great combo for me.

or both together, the sealant the night before and quick waxing at show or in the early morning.

Have you also considering jeweling the paint first for extra gloss and reflection, a sealant and wax can only do so much ??

Yep generally if I can get the time, I will wash, clay if needed and then jewel it with Super Finish w/ LC Gold Pad. Then seal and wax.

the gloss and reflection is shown in pics, and often cameras DONT display the real look in person, but I think you might hit a plateau with that color too. You should however be proud of outcome, you'd be splitting hairs to move to another sealant and wax then.

Because DP Polycoat has a booster build in to it also, it might be worth a try if you can secure some. Perhaps SSII as another quick topper but again not sure just how much a difference in that color will be noted.

Why don't you polycharge your sealant? It supposed to shorten the cure time by quite a bit, so you can put your 2nd layer not long after the first

Yeah thats the thing, in picture the car looks perfect, it has that look I am after. But thats only because the camera captures the then and now sharp edges making it pop. In person it just looks detailed. The best before sealant/wax I have found to look best for a quick job is Blackfire. Past there its WG when ever I can get time to do it.

I was just hoping someone has had some experience with this type of color and maybe had the same questions I did.

I think you have great sealant choices there. I have a space grey BMW and BFWD/Autoglym HD is my favorite combo. For my wife's car, which is a blue silver color, BFWD is my favorite choice. In accordance with DJ Majo's postings I have used Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze underneath which I found made an incredible difference. Have you tried it underneath?

I know it may not be a popular choice but have you considered Meguiars NXT 2.0? I know it not the longest lasting sealant/wax out there but I think on certain colors it really brings out a deep wet look that is amazing. I actually have decided to use this as my summer LSP on my Acura because I like the look so much and it give me a reason to wax once a month or more. :)

You never really stated if you were looking for a metallic pop or a deep wet look, and the car looks like a beautiful garage queen so LSP longevity might not be a problem here.

Looks like the same color as my minivan. For the products AG sells, so far Ultima Paint Guard Plus has given the best results.

I have a SOMEWHAT similar car in metallic and silverish color. NO wax was able to get any pop on t his color whatsoever. Even with some of the smoothest possible prep ever, ie. Rotary jewelling from M205 --> PO85RD, I was unable to get an amazing pop from the metallic silverish color.

Then I tried M16. It was able to bring some major pop to the color. And in fact I hate M16. It's a very bad product to apply and wipe off. Liquids would also evaporate out of the container for no apparent reason whatsoever, leaving a mess on the storage area. Despite being literally the absolute LSP product I have personally used, M16 is the only wax, in my opinion, that is effective on many silver colors.

Just to add to my opinion, I have some of the most expensive LSP's from some of the online retailers such as Swissvax, Wolfgang, Chemicalguys, etc...

I am not a pro-detailer by any means but try:
1) cleaning with DG #501
2) preping for sealant with DG #601
3) sealing with DG #105
4) topping with DG #951 (aquawax)

This looks pretty good on my car, which is flat WHITE, so if it makes white look good, then it should make non-white even better :)

First I love the color and wheel combo, and I say that as a Die hard chevy fan.

Second, If i'm reading right what your looking for is a Morning of the car show WoW Wax not long term durability?

If so, like Killr said SSII (and its on Bogo) is really good for popping metalics and I am hearing and seeing good things about FK1000p
see here http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/25938-fk1000p-my-metallic-silver-c6-z06.html

So maybe you should skip the sealant and layer the wax. might give you a new look with what you have already. Just a thought to try.

I have done a few cars that are that color. My recomendation would be Dodo Juice Diamond White it helps bring out some of the flake in the paint. But i have never been able to get that color to give a really deep wet look.
