Ive got 3 cars that I want to use a sealant on. Blue Ford, Silver Audi, and Gold Lexus. They all have flakes, except maybe the Audi. Anyways, Ill be polishing with the XMT stuff, wont use 360 this time. And Im going to top all of them with SSII. The Ford and Audi will be able to cure in the garage, Im not sure about the Lexus yet. My question is, what sealant would you guys recommend? Wolfgang, Poorboys, DP (on sale), or Klasse...

Oh, and the smaller the bottle the better. I wont be using sealants often. I need something that lasts a LONG time, it will be applied in the garage.

If given only those 4 options, I would say Wolfgang. I've used WG, PB, and Zaino, and found that Zaino lasts the longest, but it wasn't on your list. I like the look of WG over Zaino. Have heard good things about Klasse too though. Another one that wasn't on your list was Duragloss. Lot of people say its very close to Zaino.

I would look at Four Starr UPP (brighter than Wolfgang) or Duragloss (white box). You could also use the new Opti-seal no wipe sealant from Optimum as wanted, and still use on wheels and other cars down the road.

Zaino ISNT an option, I forgot about DG and the new Opti- seal.

the new DP Sealant (green) is very reflective also and quite durable. So many choices !!

I like Poorboys EX-P....if anything I would swtich to Duragloss #105 which looks excellent with strong durability.

DG105 imo is a great sealant, but it's the only one I've used.

I have some 4* UPP but yet to use it.

I'm also going to be ordering WG's sealant for nicer vehicles w/ dark colors.

WG sealant on anything dark and/or matallic. Trust me, you will crap your pants after it cures. Or you could get the WG spritz DGPS. It offers similar results with a shorter cure, doesn't look quite the same though.

I used DP surface shield recently, and it really poped flakes. Like it better then EX-P. Very easy application (but not super easy as Wolfgang), and it produces stunning results! And it's on sale too. Top it off with SSII, or DP Max Wax.
And post some pics.:Picture:

I think Im going to go with DP or WG.

WG, DG#105 or DG#111. I've used the WG and DG#105 a lot, love both product. #111 only used 1 time, but I was impress with it.
Killr, the white box is #111.

I love Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. Here are a few pics with Wolfgang DGPS only.

Hey Greg,

Do you have any pictures of your results with WG? Or anyone?

Oh. I couldn't see those pics when I had written my msg.

The WG in those pics look good and you got better results than I did with WG but....
I don't know... I guess I just don't like the WG look. Also, it didn't last long on the 2 cars I used it on. Maybe my technique was poor.
To me it's kind of a dull look. Sort of like carnauba but not as shiny and not as deep. IMHO that is.

Gary, have you ever used UPP?

I have the old DP Sealant formula, the new formula and Wolfgang Deep Gloss. I've not used the new formula yet. The WDGS looks awesome on my dark green Jag. It looked very wet. I entered it in a Concours with 3x WDGS and the Wolfgang spritz, no nuba. I was very pleased with the deep wet look.

The DP sealant has been used on a silver Quest, a white Mustang and a pearl Lexus. It gives a very nice bright shiny slick look.

Both are excellent. My preference between the two is the WDGS if you don't consider price to be a factor.

Cheetah, I have never used UPP. The results of any good detail depend on good prep work. If the paint needs cleaned, clayed or polished no sealant or wax is going to look that great if you put it on top paint in poor condition. I like the looks of Wolfgang DGPS but I do think a lot of nuba waxes look better. Most of the time I put a nuba on top of DGPS.

From my experince the I think Wolfgang DGPS has the following strong points:
1. product looks goods
2. product is extremely easy on and easy off
3. product is very economical in large sizes (I buy the 128 oz bottle)
4 a little product goes a long way
5. product seems to last for months

The only thing I don't like about it is the long cure times.

Gary,

You know, when I tried WG both times I finished at 5:30-6pm so probably there were too many hours of the 12 hour cure time that were in slightly humid conditions. I say 'slightly'
because I live in San Diego where humidity is very low however it was curing part of the time at night so that could have affected the results as the bottle says.:o

Why haven't you tried UPP? I mean, it looks so good on Killr's vehicle.
And mine. hehe.
