This car was a referral from Autopia (That's actually the 2nd time for that to happen from there!). The customer was on there and found me in his area. The car is a single stage red 1991 Miata. He was not even sure it could be saved. I had him come by and did 2 test spots on it. I used PG with a rotary and my white wool pad followed by Micro Polish and DG 501. He was impressed and I got the job. This car was badly faded as you can see by the shots. The wheels also looked really rough but Megs WB to the rescue once again!! He also wanted the chrome roll bars done and the plastic window polished. I was very proud of this turnaround to say the least! Every bloody pad and foam applicator was red after this car. I had quite the job just to clean everything after! Talk about seeing red..geesh. Unfortunately, the front bumper was beyond repair but he had a bra on it anyway.

The Process:

Wheels, Barrels, Wells:
Wheels and Barrels cleaned with Megs WB and EZ brush and a smaller version of same
Tires cleaned with ARO
Wells cleaned with APC
Tires subsequently dressed with DP gel
Wells subsequently dressed with Crappy Tire tire foam

Wash:
2 bucket method
Convertible top with ARO (a vinyl one at that)

Paint:
Multiple touch ups
Compounded with rotary using PG and white wool
Compounded with rotary using SIP and foamed wool purple pad
Polished with rotary using Micro polish and black pad
Cleaned with rotary using DG 501 and blue pad
Sealed with DG 601/105 combo
AW applied after curing period

Convertible top:
Treated with 303 Aerospace, buffed dry

Exterior Trim:
Some got black again, mud flaps re-died

Interior:
Mats vacuumed, pw'd, APC, pw'd, vacuumed, steamed
Carpet, seats steam cleaned
Glass with IG
Plastic treated with 303
Chrome roll bars polished with Blue Magic
Plastic window polished with UDM, white pad, DG plastic polish

50/50 Shots:

Wow nice turn around Richy. How long did it take you?

Awesome, would have taken me a week and I may not have accomplished your results.

Amazing job!!! The guy must've been in tears (of joy)...

Very nice work on a car that had seen much better days I'm sure. The owner was without doubt very happy with the outcome. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
