Seeking opinions: V7 or AW?

Although I originally started this thread with AW vs V7, now I've been reading about Megs D156 and think that may be a better alternative instead of the V7. The debate in my mind continues.

If you're thinking about D156, try Meg's ultimate quick wax first before shelling out for a gallon and shipping.

I recently picked up four star ultimate spray wax and it's quickly become my new favorite. On my light silver cars, I think it looks better than OCW.

I have V7, AW & D156. I feel that V7 is the easiest to use ( just flashes into paint, no wipe off) and also gives the cleanest shine. Oh, and it never streaks. Like I've said before, put a couple drops of poly charger in it and it's Incredible! Also, why are most so concerned with water beading? We all clean our vehicles way more often than the majority and use some some sort of spray to assist with preventing water spots while just adding a touch of protection and gloss. So lets focus on why we really use these products and that is making our vehicles shine more than anyone else's, not about how our paint beads water. If you want unrelenting water beading, apply some Gtechniq or Cquartz.

I have all three and use all three. I would hate to choose one or the other.

:iagree:

My favorite is now WG Wet Diamond Polymer Spray and 2nd V07. I also never expect to get prolonged protection from any spray detalier or spray sealant or whatever the marketing guys want to call them. It's just a short term fix.

I've used/tried all 3 and without a doubt its AW due to finish, ease of use and local availability (CarQuest) and also price! Next is Meg's D156 or as its called at your local autoparts store, Meg's Ultimate spray wax, a bit more than AW but has all of AW's qualities. Then there's V7, $17.99 or $18.99 for 16 oz, atleast you get a clear spray bottle when its empty, LOL! I should say that V7 did a good job too but AW wins in a landslide!

that's not completely true. I love some good beading and sheeting. It gives that little extra over other cars you see coming out of the carwash and look "clean", bit with the first rain, it's all flat water behaviour.

I had a guy coming up to me asking why the water was forming little water drups. Told him it was special paint :D
Then I explained ofcourse... and had a new customer :D

If it's just shine you want, you can have it from a QD. so as he looks at spray sealants, he will probably want some protection to or at least a boost. Not a disintegration of the wax layer like V7 might do.

LOL on the "special paint", and you're correct: I have FK425 which rarely gets used that amps up the shine, but was looking for a little protection between full details.

Thinking I'll go with either AW again, or possibly the 156 depending on current pricing (whatever is on sale at the time). I'm lucky since AG is local for me Im the MAN

I agree Prima and Lucas Slick Mist are some of the nicest products I have used.

I agree about Meg's Ultimate detailer, its the same as D156, just sold in a smaller size...as well as at your local autoparts store, try before you buy in bulk from AG. I would also like to add that I've used the 3 (AW, V7 and Meg's Ultimate spray wax) and I would put Meg's USW a better choice, if for anything price and local availabilty. I didn't dislike V7 but have found better and cheaper products.
