After reading the first line it's obviously spam. The sad part is when there are people in need it automatically looks like spam. Especially on Facebook. I guess this unlimited supply of information comes with a price.
Oh well... We just always have tread lightly and never give out personal information. Especially credit card numbers.

Good to get confirmation. Thanks for the info on how it works too, I was interested, and I figured it was something to do with cash-advance and paying the "tow guy" and all that.
I'm usually not very gullible so I tread pretty lightly on this sort of thing, but anything can happen, I guess.

"Hi this is Ryan my uncle had an accident on his way to visit our family in New York .with his Cadillac escalade 2006,but the repair has been done so I want the car tow back to the state here in your shop so you can do the auto detailing service for him, can you handle that for me ?? I do live here in state and the vehicle is with the tow guy in New York and they will have it tow to your workshop for an estimation by next week monday between 2pm ,will you be able to handle everything done for me and do you accept credit card ??the car is with the tow guy and There`s no insurance involved i will like to text you with ur personal cell phone now and give me ur cell phone number and i can send u text message and we can communicate thru that ok ??"

And I got it today too! 
Funny thing is NOBODY except a couple of select vendors have the email address it was sent to, not even AutoGeek. Only three have it, Square, Car-Pro, and Paynet Systems (card processing company that I plan on FIRING this week for their misleading advertising practices and charging me more than ½% more plus refusing to provide the "free" card reader).
And THAT ONE is my Home Theater company address, NOT out (new) Detailing Business. Oh, and BTW, it's now official we have rolled out the new business. Bank account, debit cards, heck they even gave us a $3K credit card. (keeping my wife AWAY from that one!)
Actually been pretty busy, considering I don't even have business cards yet!!!
So.... here's what I got today.
As you can see, this guy doesn't even seem to use English as his first language. I started to not reply at all, but this is what I sent. :laughing:

Getting the text message about this scam from a (270)697-6663. Saying, "Hi my name is Nancy a deaf woman cant talk on phone, I want you to detail 4 ESCALADE Cars?"
They go on to mention that they would like to schedule appt this month on the 22 and the time they would like. Also, tell what services they want. They are even willing to pay in advance to book the appt. BTW, the cars are in Moody, AL with a private tow agent who bring 2 per day to my location in GA.

I'd be very careful as something just doesn't seem right....way too much towing for a drivable vehicle...

As mentioned last year when this was posted, this is a scam. You will never see them or a vehicle. You will just get burnt with credit card fraud in the end. They have many different variations of this scam going around, some asking to buy floor liners, some to buy Optimum product, and most to have a bunch of "Escapades" delivered and detailed.

I would be willing to bet they were going to ask you to pay for the wrecker "who I'm sure he would tell you could only accept cash or check" and he told you he had it towed cross country so it would be 1500.00-2000.00. He would tell you he'll put the detail and wrecker on his credit card when the detail is done. The wrecker driver is obviously in on it and probably local. So you give them 1500-2000.00 and a full detail and they give you a stolen credit card.
