Seems like Wolfgang sealant is gone already

Thank you. This was my first time using higher end products. I have the paint cleanser on my wish list before I apply the sealant next time.

Hey guys. In late August I detailed my truck and applied wolfgang paint sealant and topped that with fuzion. A few weekends ago I put another coat of fuzion on the truck. Along the sides of the truck the water doesn't bead up anymore and seems as if there is no longer any kind of protection left. Is this the case? Winter is slowly approaching and I want it to be protected, but I don't really have the time to give another detail due to school. Sorry for the small picture, but you can see where the water stops beading and it does that all along each side. Feed back please

You and I were almost on the same schedule. Detailed my van in mid-August with Menzerna topped with WDGPS+Fuzion. Then, added another layer of Fuzion in late September. We've had monsoon rains here the past 3 weeks. My van is still beading, not as spectacularly as 2 months ago, but beading nonetheless. I look at the lower panels for indication that the LSP is gone because on my van in the Pacific Northwest weather of rain and wind, the lower panels are the first to go. My van is a daily driver but garaged at night and most weekday, so it's the lower panels that get blasted by road spray almost all the time while the horizontal panels stay relatively safe.

On my last wash 3 days ago, the level of beading and sheeting action goes from (most to least) hood/roof to top half of vertical panels to lower half of vertical panels. The lower panels have taken a lot of abuse the past 3 weeks and I'm guessing if the rains continue (it's been raining every day for close to 3 weeks now...), I may have to add another layer of Fuzion in a month or two. Plus some spot-claying here and there.

Personally I would have done an IPA wipe down. I Know a lot of people do a wash right before applying an LSP, but with a shampoo with no wax or gloss enhancers. If your shampoo had wax or gloss enhancers it could cause the sealant not to be able to bond with the paint. Which Wolfgang sealant?

I have gone straight from polishing to a sealant without any type of cleaning or wipedown in between, with no adverse effects, including WDGPS 3.0. Look at what Mike Phillips have to say on this topic in the threads below: Basically, follow the sealant instructions - if it says to clean the paint before applying the sealant, do it. If it doesn't, then don't.

The instructions say for best results use a paint cleanser like Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer. I believe if your using a polish made by the same manufacturer as your LSP a lot of times you can go straight to your LSP. I'm Not a professional so I may be wrong. Personally I wouldn't go from polishing with Optimum polish straight to applying the Wolfgang sealant. I believe the manufacturers design their products to work together. Anything left behind by a Wolfgang polish is made to work with their sealant etc. This is my opinion so I'll be interested in seeing what others have to say. I use coatings and follow the manufacturers recommendations. I even go as far as to use their shampoos on their coatings.
