SEMA 2022/2023 New Products

The micro polisher you can plug in. That might be a big selling point.

i can't speak for others, but for me it is. having a cordless tool/polisher costs more money over time (continued cost) as batteries need to be replaced. at least with the plug-in option, you can run it for however long you want and not have to worry about it running out of power. alternate between battery and plug-in depending on area...

They showed off the new Griot's products in a livestream. The polisher looks nice but it is pricey. That'll be available in Spring.

One thing I did not notice about the cordless foamer/sprayer earlier is that it has an adjustment knob for the foam. That's something the SPTA lacks.

The iBrid has had this option since day 1.

Yep that's why i mentioned it. I read a few guys prefer it plugged in. Has more power that way so they say.

I'm half expecting Rupes will come out when a very different 15mm cordless at some point and it's going to be very expensive. The mini looks cool but i don't understand why they never put a trigger lock on it. Looks powerful in the forensic videos.

I should start saving lol I'm going to breakdown and get a cordless at some point i'd say. I hope rupes do come to market with one.

Gotcha. The pivoting head could be nice.

I really wonder if that polisher has stalling issues....they are suppose to demo it this week from SEMA I believe

A little off topic. Are there any rumors about RUPES working on a Cordless 15mm DA?

I think i will be buying a cordless next year. Not sure if i should try to sell my G15 or not....

Allegedly has a "10 amp" motor which translates to around 1200 watts...

Upgrade from the G8 which has a 6.0 amp...700 watt motor

Has anyone "Traded in" to upgrade a Griots polisher?
I'm curious to how that works and also what value do they give older models for trade .

I think they've said they stopped doing that. Not sure if they have a different policy in-store.

Stoner has a Prep Wash coming out too which is their wash to help promote better bonding for their ceramic/hybrid products. Still haven't heard anything about their coating yet.

"Ceramic Prep Wash
Our Ceramic Prep Wash is the perfect automotive paint surface prep for ceramic application. It effectively strips off remaining sealants, waxes, or glazes, providing a residue-free surface to which ceramic coating can properly bond.

Facilitates the bond between your paint and ceramic - highly concentrated cleaning agents clean surfaces to ensure a strong bond and proper adhesion.
Safe with all finishes - pH-balanced and formulated to be gentle on all automotive surfaces
Contains no silicones or waxes - provides a thorough clean, leaving no residue.
Easy to use - straightforward four-step application: add half a bottle to a gallon of water, wash the vehicle, rinse completely with water, and dry with a detailing towel or chamois."

Explain?

I would venture to say the 15mm is the most popular DA for professionals. Other machines work i'm sure. It was my first machine and i love using it.

First i have not used a 15mm. But correct me if wrong but isnt the only possible benefit of 15mm over 8 is the possiblity to cover a little more surface area due to longer stroke? But with that you lose the ability of possible quicker more concetrated correction ability?

And i dont personally know any pros so i dont know what machine they use.
