Hey guys,

I want to improve my Search Engine Optimization and would like to know how you make your page climb the Search engine ladder.

Right now the only thing I am doing is putting key words for each page in the Meta.

Any advice on how to make this better? Any specific key word that works well?

Start here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...71609-so-you-want-found-locally-internet.html

My background is Information Systems and Computer Science. SEO is like detailing, you get what you pay for. Same thing goes for your website, if it's not up to par then all the SEO in the world won't help. Its like trying to do a paint correction on failed paint. There are a couple things you can do to make a difference but it's the combination of a bunch of a little things (with the core big things) that really make the difference.

There's a difference between SEO and local SEO.

In the local space, especially for detailing, you will only have a FEW keywords that will bring in traffic worth ranking for.

SEO (referring to the digital space like if you offer a 'simple crm systems') will have A TOONNNNSSSS of short/long tail keywords that will bring in MASSIVE traffic.

To give you a perfect example, these are the search queries within Houston that are specifically related to detailing:

In total, there are over 3,000 searches a month for detailing related services in Houston.

This is going dramatically differ from city to city. Houston is a HUGE city that bring in different demographics.

This means someone that is 40 miles away from me may be searching for those same searches that someone who is only 7 miles away from me. They also may be the completely wrong customer profile for my business.

And if I remember correctly, only 40% of search traffic goes to the first 3 links, the other 60% is shared amongst the other 7 links (not considering the paid ads on the side, top, and bottom).

Now take a look at a sales crm company called Close.io. They're in the crm for sales teams. So everything that they write about should be relative to sales.

I made this for them so they can see the quieres people are searching for and what they can create content around via their blog and YouTube channel:

As you can tell, they can bring in a MASSSIIIVEE amount of traffic to their site via content marketing, search engine optimization, blogging, and so forth.

At a local scale, you don't have that benefit.
