I took my site down to polish up my content and prices. I want to offer a service plan, weekly or bi-weekly, to customers who get a full detail first. Here is the pricing and service that I will provide.

Wash, vacuum, windows, quick dusting and wax once a month.

Weekly: compact - $24.99 mid/full size - $34.99 SUV/truck - $44.99

Bi-weekly: compact - $39.95 mid/full-size - $49.95 SUV’s/trucks - $59.95

I have read many other thread and just wanted to see what you all thought. Prices OK? Add or take away anything?

I think that is a good starting point for a maintenance plan. I'd add in tire dressing and an air freshener if it were me. I can't say anything on prices though as I am just an enthusiast

Stick with monthly plan, people won't commit every week. They say they will and it will fall apart quickly.

Use that method to gain customers and a reputation. If someone pulls up and ask for a card don't even mention car washing, stick with detailing.

I have to repost something wrong with site.avoid weekly washing it will keep you from making good money on detailing. The promblem with weekly services is that if you told Betty the customer you will be there on Thursday and Johnny the customer calls and says he needs a detail done on Thursday which one are you gonna do.now Betty is pissed.

You are cornering yourself with tiny profit margins.stick with maybe 10 loyal 65.00 monthly customers and don't commit to a certain day, call them the day before and say you will be in the area.

So, you are saying to only offer one wash once every month after a full detail?

I agree with the majority of this post, let clients know that you will do maintenance monthly maybe after you give them a full detail to help them maintain.

Good point.

yes you will find out that more people will commit to once a month.I only take care of 4 cars a month at 65.00 a pop. They don't give me aggravation and they are patient clients. But at 65.00 I do more than a wash.you will go down misery road messing around with 20 to 30 dollar services.

Ok, I am of the mentality that my name is on every job, and that I would much rather do a full detail to show my work. However, I am 23 years old and want to make this my full-time job, at least for now, and get away from retail, which I hate! With this said, would offering at least an every two-week wash not help with money and actually advertising in a way? While I am working towards full reconditioning work and would love to do that primarily, I know that that market is not always busy enough to survive.

Would you list what all you do for that price once a month?

Good point.
I got rid of all my wash clients wasn't making any money.factor in diesel for truck chemicals doing towels till 12am and filling all the bottles up in the dark.phone calls at 9pm turn phone on in morning 4 other people called what a nightmare.wash people are hard to upsell, all they want is a clean car and nothing beyond. The only positive thing out of that was potential clients approaching you for a card for detailing services.

My guess is he shows up and performs a "mini detail"... Which basically means he maintains the initial detail he performed on the vehicle. Or in other words, he cleans the vehicle up to "his" standards. Which is a good deal considering most of us have a hard time not over delivering due to our OCD. At least this way you're getting compensated for your/our efforts.

It's always easier to maintain a vehicle in tip top shape than transform a thrashed vehicle that 1st time.

"Which is a good deal considering most of us have a hard time not over delivering due to our OCD." That statement is so freaking true!! I am so worried that because I missed something ever so small that the customer will be mad, therefore I take probably way too much time on certain things. Oh, the struggle!

@GSKR. It'd be nice if we could actually speak one day.. It would be an honor to learn even a small percent of knowledge from an experienced pro like you. Respect to you, Sir.

I agree! If only I could PM him and find out anything about him! What all do you do and where? I love learning about other detailers!

Well that could take a whole lotta typing... Lol. That's why I like being able to attend TNOG @ Meguiars in Irvine, CA. I've met so many good people there. Learned alot too.
