Service plan!

I took my site down to polish up my content and prices. I want to offer a service plan, weekly or bi-weekly, to customers who get a full detail first. Here is the pricing and service that I will provide.

Wash, vacuum, windows, quick dusting and wax once a month.

Weekly: compact - $24.99 mid/full size - $34.99 SUV/truck - $44.99

Bi-weekly: compact - $39.95 mid/full-size - $49.95 SUV’s/trucks - $59.95

I have read many other thread and just wanted to see what you all thought. Prices OK? Add or take away anything?

Are you at a fixed location or mobile? If you are at a fixed location I think your prices are good. If you are mobile you are not gonna make a dime driving to customer's places for 25$.

I am actually both. After reading all the comments and sound advice, I think I will just stick to a once a month service plan, possibly a bi-weekly. Now to nail down prices! Using Mike's VIF, modified for me, for the first time in just a few hours!

Okay quick question! The vif, when going to give a quote do you give that form to them? Do you make a copy?

I've been thinking about my prices for a service plan and how long it might take. A vehicle can get really nasty in just two weeks and especially nasty in a month! With that said, how long should it take me to wash, dry, interior, windows, wipe down a vehicle after a full detail? My fear is that it will really suck up my time and cut into my profit, if I am not careful.

Also, for a full detail or maintenance, what tools, products do you use to really cut back on your time? I feel like a foam cannon and a pressure washer would really come in handy!

Depending how much you want to make/charge for the maintenance detail, you will have to adjust your services accordingly.

For me, to do a full two bucket wash, really cleaning the wheels, pressure washing and all takes about 90 minutes. Then if you want to include a interior refresh with vacuuming and a wipedown, you need to add time for that as well, at least 15-30 mins. So we are talking about roughly 2 hours.

Now to cut time there are ways. For the wheels, you could spray them with Meguiar's wheel brightener and pressure wash them without going at them with brushes. If you do that, doing all 4 should take you about 5 minutes total instead of 10 minutes per wheel. For the wash, if the car is not too dirty, you could do a wash with a rinseless wash. That is much faster. Finally, if you use a spray wax as a drying aid, you can have 2 processes done at the same time (drying and waxing) saving you some more time. I think your goal should be to do the service in about an hour if you can. Pressure washers are great but remember you still have to set up and put away, so they might or might not save you time. If you use them for wheel then yes I think you can shave of several minutes because of it.

Also to speed up drying time, using a blower like the MetroVac Sidekick is really good. You can chase the water off all the cracks and mirrors and such before drying the car preventing you to have to do countless touch ups because water is dripping out.
