When I was contacted by the owner of this car, I knew it was gonna need some work. However when I saw the state it was in, I realized it was gonna need a lot more. After discussing options for reviving the paint on this Evo, the customer decided to only do the exterior, even though the inside needed attention and you could barely see through the windows... So I got to work...

Here's what I arrived to...

You can see the clear has completely failed on the rear brakes. I guess there is a recall for this but it hasn't been done yet.

Another factory defect here, the clear was completely shot to oblivion on the carbon fiber spoiler. Spoiler is headed to the paint shop to get redone.

Wow!! great restoration job!

I bet the owner was ecstatic after seeing it!

Great work! :D

i am in love with that year of the evo, great save! and great job bringing it back.

man that is almost a replica job on a 05 evo I did awhile back. Makes for a really good turn around.

That was quite a restoration! By the looks of the finish it had severely deteriorated and must have been a challenge.

Superb work and great documentation!

Nice to see the license plate finally matches the car.

Thanks guys!

I used M205 on LC PFW followed by Menz FPII on LC white.

Man, I think you saved this car from complete clearcoat failure. Great job. Absolutely love this generation of Evo's. Just so good looking.

A lot of those evo's actually had single stage paints. They will tell you it was for weight reduction, I think it was more a cost cutting strategy...

Great turn around on this one OP.

Good call, yeah.. everyone knows Japanese cars are mediocre at best. (at least from my experience)

Fantastic turn around. This is where you turned a frog into a prince lol !!!!!!!!! great save.

Grweat job got to love the single stage paint of the EVO VIII's Red, white, and black it make correction alot easier IOM

Simply amazing turnaround. Some owners would've sent that out for repainting.
