Several question regards PBL Synergy

Hello guys,

I just start detailings my car just less than 2 months after get my wife a new car. I got tons of knowledge from AOF, but still some info are missing. As living in Thailand, a country with super harsh environment, I rushing my car to coat with Japanese Glass coating, Nanonix, a permanent bond silica base glass coating immediately after got her. My car look crystal clear and sparkling like glass, but it's lack of wet and sleek feels. I then wax it up with HD's Poxy, which only help a bit, almost not notice by my amature eye.

Hopelessly to searching for some "feel" that My car lacking. I found a Souveran Paste wax past Sunday, and just after one coat, wow l found what I am looking for! Today, I just bought several more of Pinnacle products, souveran spray wax, waterless carnuaba spray and I am hungry for more.

I found out that Pinnacle have higher end Black Label which are not available in my country, so Autogeek shop would be my only hope. Just before I let's my buck go on I want to find more of the information on them as I cant find these info even on auto geek forum. They are list below:

1.) The quality of Synergy vs Souveran Paste wax on a black car, which one is giving more wet and sleeking?

2.) PBL diamond coating vs Japanese "real" glass coating (either Silica and Ceramic glass) comparing. Most of US coating for me seems to be like a toy comparing to Japanese Real Glass. Japanese real glass coating require you very strict coating procedure and accuarate time and their coat agent will not live more than a day after open the bottle, after one day, the left over really turn in to a real piece of glass, this made me wonder about PBL diamond coating whether they are at the same quality as they do not turn to glass in it bottle even after a year. Also Japanese coat always mention about hardness of their coat at 7H or 9H. Comparing to PBL diamond coat, I found no e of these information at all. Does PBL diamond coat can competing with the real japanese glass coat or it's just another soft spray coating? What really is the hardness of PBL Diamond coating?

3.) the real Glass coating have very high chemical resistant, even with a good sealant will last only a month I suspect Souveran will last only have a few weeks on them (that why I purchase ton of souveran booster). Will Synergy do better at bonding to this real silica or titanium glass coating? If the answer is yes they can bond, I think we will have a winner here, the first Carnuaba wax that can bond with the real glass coating.

I think the end look of any high quality wax first depends upon the prep work.

They both look good and my customers were ecstatic.

Does PBL diamond coat can competing with the real japanese glass coat or it's just another soft spray coating? What really is the hardness of PBL Diamond coating?

It's the real deal and it's also the easiest coating there is to apply.

Blasting Bird Bombs at the Coin-Op Car Wash!


Last Wednesday, a huge flock of birds made a stop over in our neighborhood. I think they were Purple Martins, which are native to Florida but I'm not a Ornithologist so don't quote me on this.

On Tuesday, I used the new Coating Detailer to wipe our car clean and then applied the coating booster to freshen the glassy look.

Now fast forward to Thursday and when I walk out to my wife's car I find it's been bird bombed!



This is disgusting....

This once liquid puddle of dissolved bird droppings is now just a dried film of bird droppings...

Had to run some errands so I figured since I had maintained the finish on this car with nothing but the Black Label Diamond Surface Coating since we did the show car makeover on it a few moths ago and because I had just two days ago did a mist & wipe with the Black Label Diamond Coating Booster, I was hoping a strong spray of water would simply b-l-a-s-t the fresh but dried bird bombs off the paint and then I wouldn't have to "touch" the bird bombs or the paint with a wash mitt.

So I drove down to the nearest coin-operated do-it-yourself car wash and for a buck fifty, I used two settings, the SOAP and RINSE buttons and successfully blasted off all traces of the bird bombs.

The benefit to going to the local Coin-Op Car Wash is their sprayers offer powerful water pressure to blast things like dried bird droppings off you car.

This keeps you from having to come into physical contact with the bird excrement which can be a health hazard and health risk.

Here's the paint after rinsing...

Driving down the road, in a few seconds I'm going to do a U-turn onto an empty highway and take her up to speed to blast most of the water off...

Pulled into the nearest parking lot and proceeded to wiper any remaining water off the car using a single Gold Plush Microfiber Towel, the 16" by 24" version.

No trace of the bird bombs and more important... no trace of any bird bomb etchings!

No way of knowing if it was the Black Label Diamond Surface Coating or the Black Label Diamond Coating Booster that protected the paint from the corrosive bird droppings that sat and dried on the paint but one thing for sure, there's no etching and the bird bombs themselves blasted easily and completely off the paint for a $1.50.

Will Synergy do better at bonding to this real silica or titanium glass coating?

I don't top coatings because it defeats the purpose of using a coating.

You also lose the features and characteristics of the coating and instead now have the features and characteristics of the wax.

Synergy is a great, tough, durable wax. I highly recommend it. It looks great, but Souverän looks a hair better IMHO. The problem is, there is a trade off. Souverän doesn't have anywhere near the longevity Synergy. Souveran probably isn't the best wax for a daily driver that isn't garage kept. Synergy is tough as nails.

If you search reviews for PBL coating (or any coating it seems) - you will often get mixed reviews. Some say it's great, some say it sucks. Only way you know if you'll like it and it will work for you is to give it a try.

Both Synergy and PBL diamond paint coating are great products. What I like about the PBL diamond coating is that when it cures it's slick to the touch unlike some coatings that are not.

I recently just used the PBL diamond paint, wheel and glass coatings on my personal ride and couldn't be happier. I have topped it with Synergy just to see what would happen. Didn't really change the look IMO.

I use synergy on a lot of details where the customer doesn't want to pay for a coating but still wants longevity for protection. Yes it's pricey but a little goes a long way and on a dark colored car it's awesome.

I don't see any wax will last in our asia weather not even collinite
Nearly all coatings here are source from Japan and were relabel/rebottle in different brands Lol.
I would rather get products from AG store that label made from US ^^

The combo has worked out as expected. The downside is occasional waterspots on some panels. I had to pull out CarPro Spotless a few times on my brother's Chevy Colorado truck in metallic black. This coating has a very glassy shine to it by itself. With Synergy, it gives the paint another dimension with a 3D effect. Hard to explain with words or pictures. The wax seems to last here in Bangkok. We've waxed the truck about every four months. I know that it is supposed to last about six months, but we enjoy waxing the truck. The truck is rinseless washed about every weekend since we live in a condo and the truck is parked in an open air parking structure. PBL coating & wax attracts a moderate amount of dust in just a couple of days of not being moved. All the washing over the past year has led to very minor swirls that cannot be seen unless you get close to even under full sun. Life of cleaning a black truck.

Last year, my brother took his truck from Bangkok down to Koh Pha Ngan in southern Thailand. We went off-roading and then drove down the wrong trail which was for pedestrians only. There were trees and bushes lining both sides of the trail. Leaves and small branches dragged all the way down both sides of his black truck. After he came back to Bangkok, we cleaned up the truck to see all of the scratches all over. Just a couple of passes with Meguiar's M205 removed about 90% of the scratches which I believe were only in the coating. Only a few RIDS were left behind, but I felt that the coating did its job which is to become a sacrificial barrier. I was impressed that a spray on coating was able to protect the paint from a lot of physical damage. The minor swirls are a small price to pay overall for what it does. Again the only major problem with this coating is waterspotting easily compared to something such as Cquartz or Cquartz UK. Then again, that's with both of my cars in America, not in Thailand.

The truck gets a lot of compliments out here because it is so different. Most people use their trucks as a business workhorse, not a garage queen. I'll post a picture of it in a little bit.

Wow very glossy!!! I would do the same if my car look so wet...
I had tried sonax PNS ,cquartz, uk and other japan glass coatings here all have water spotting issue. The car will collect a layer of dust when park over night. It's worst with wax

I still like Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax!
