Hi Folks,

Long time Autogeek shopper and detailer. Just recently lost my mind and purchased a black Audi. Even before I signed on the dotted line, I knew I'd be counting on DGPS and other goodies to keep it looking happy. Mother Nature is finally cooperating, and I'm hoping to do some serious work this coming weekend.

My go-to stuff over the years includes the PC 7424, Makita 9227. LC pads, Megs 105 & 205, and Blackfire/Four Star sealants and Poorboys & Pinnacle waxes. Depending on the finish in question, I never hesitate to use and recommend the Wolfgang lineup, most especially the DGPS.

Shoulder woes have taken me away from doing a lot of professional work, but I still chase after perfection on vehicles belonging to family and friends. It's nice to be back on this forum.

Welcome to AGO! The black Audi should keep you very busy.

Weekend warrior myself.... I don't chime in often because most everything has been answered... Except for Rupes or Flex :-(

Anyone up for a bbq/get together?

Any of you guys near Hercules? I'm out here in the boonies.

Driveway time!

First wash and minor detail for my Q5 (bought late last year) this weekend. Two goals... First, to get it cleaned up and protected for a bit, especially with more rain coming. Second, to give a thorough inspection of the finish, to see just what I'll be challenged with later this spring when I can bring out the buffer. Mission accomplished.

Wheels, tires, & wells: Megs APC 3:1, two-bucket w/ CG Citrus Wash, EZ-Detail brushes, & foam/mesh mitt.

Wash: two-bucket w/ CG Citrus Wash.

Clay: Blackfire Poly Clay II; Poorboys S&W 3:1.

Cleanse: Wolfgang Polish Enhancer w/ mf applicator.

Seal: Paint w/ Wolfgang DPGS 3.0; Glass w/ Blackfire WD

Dress: Zaino Z16.

Late this morning the paint received a second coat of DGPS. Here are some after shots, taken in Pacifica.

For giggles, here are a couple of shots with a 'tungsten' white balance setting:

If you're interested, the location is at a lookout point on Sharp Park Road. Always a nice spot, even on a cloudy day. I used my 18/200mm lens, and here's a shot of the Pacifica pier from the lookout:

As you can see from the pics, I'll have a number of swirls and RIDs to address. Nonetheless, I love the car, and it's nice to see a bit of gloss in the pearl black finish.
