I got the same call and immediately asked how they accessed my computer, how they got my password, and who gave them permission to do so- they hung up! I guess scam artist survive on people's supidity.
 
Backed up sewage line.....yes, a lovely thought, especially coming up in the showers. Guy said the machine to clean out the line would tear up the pipe and cause more damage.....pipe replacement $800-1000.

Honest guy said that is BS and ran the machine to clean out the pipe for $95. Still works today some years later.

White van guys selling some expensive sounding funky brand speakers in walmart parking lot. Did my good deed for the day told a guy looking them that it was a scam as I walked passed Jim in the parking lot.
 
A guy came to my house selling "magazines" saying I would get them for free only pay shipping so I take a look but as I read on and ask him questions he can't tell me who he word for, and all his info sounds bogus. him and some buddies go city to city selling stuff and get this, I could only pay with a check! I thinking to myself, no thank you! not about to get a check washed out! To try to encourage me to buy he showed me a check that my "neighbor" used. Was not the correct date not even from my city! Haha I serious was thinking bout buying them until my quick hands on detective work was even filling the form out, then I told him " you know what go rip off someone else" and closed the door. I waited a bit and went to go see if he was knocking on doors, that mofo booked it! I even checked other streets no where to be seen lol I feel bad if he got anyone else. if you don't pay attention and even when someone sounds and acts professional, you could be signing your life away.
