Shipping costs

I have had the same issue with AutoGeek. In most cases they are higher than any company that I deal with. If shipping is to high I either don't buy it or get it at a different source.

I am quite surprised that this thread is not closed.

AutoGeek is not going to change their policy on shipping and no matter what is said on this forum is going to change.

This thread should be closed.

i don't see why they would.

no one is literally bashing, just stating opinions and facts, as well as concerns. i don't think anyone here is trying to steer people away from buying here, but still expressing concerns that we feel should be addressed.

the business model of this forum is to help the end user and collect feedback.

they are certainly going to be able to collect feedback, just imagine how many more sales they would get if their shipping prices on non sale 150 dollar orders was dropped to a reasonable level.

I agree. Saying this thread should be closed is ridiculous. I give credit to AGO, for the most part, they're fairly transparent with things like this. Most company threads would frown upon open dialogue about issues like this. AGO welcomes it and they do listen. They have made changes due to forum outcry on a few things. As long as its kept respectful, AGO has always been open to allowing us to express our feelings and suggestions. Just because one or two people feel, for whatever strange reason, it should be closed, doesnt mean it should be. Feel free to pass by any threads that don't interest you. Obviously, this is a hot topic and several people have commented.

It's funny the perception people have of the post office. . The post office is much cheaper than ups and fedex. The post office delivers some fedex and ups packages. So if it's more expensive to ship with them, the post office might be the company that delivers the package anyway

Frank, I guess we all have different experiences with the PO. I think the people at my PO are drunk or just "slow".

Uh, no. The problem with generalizations is that they're generalizations...

With the wife being a photographer, we ship quite a bit. Sometimes USPS is cheaper, sometimes FedEx is cheaper, sometimes UPS is cheaper.

For example, an 11x8.5x5.5 10lb package going from Mankato, MN to Grovetown, GA:

UPS Ground: $19.50 (3 days)
FedEx Home Delivery: $17.02 (3 days)
USPS Standard Post: $18.07 (3 days)

Now I'm very curious. I'm gonna check that out

thats pretty much the way it is. there are so many different options for shipping. even the flat rate boxes can be helpful if you are shipping extremely heavy metal parts.

•Would I be generalizing if I were to say that:
-The Carriers' shipping rates, per the above:
lowest>highest example, seem to NOT be
determined alphabetically...F; US; UP?

-The $2.48 spread between these Carriers rates wouldn't get my: "knackers in a knot". (Notice that: Due to not wanting to possibly cause offense...I used the less colorful version of this ages-old adage that may contain obscure or anachronistic vocabulary).

How did this thread get to 10 pages??
I'll wager a guess and say that it was by virtue
of AGO forum members' postings. :)

{Hopefully this latest posting of mine will be added to this thread's overall pages-accumulation.} :D

and the USPS loses billions of dollars anually.

The biggest reason for that is congress forces the post office to pay billions in a prefunded retirement. ..

Technically the post office is non profit so im not sure why the government controls it when it wants to.

Most people think taxes pay for the post office that's not true

Ups probably wouldn't be in business if it wasn't for the post office. I don't know exactly when but maybe in the 30's 40's the PO gave UPS most of it's parcel business. Wouldn't make much sense for me to give some business to a detailing competitor.

Mostly old people complain but it's funny how many people complain about the price of a stamp but not price of a gallon of gas. 49 cents to go 3000 miles. Sounds like a good deal to me. Google some other countries stamp costs..

I wish the PO would just close their doors. All my mail is junk mail and everyone pays everything online. I get like a zillion credit card applications with all my personal info on them - all unsolicited.

All my mail goes right from the box to the garbage. It would be a huge job to shred it all and I'm too lazy.

I'm thinking of just putting a note on my mailbox saying "He's Dead - Stop Mail".

Lol ... yes i make many trips to the shredder.. keeps people working though. . What if everyone could order their drugs online

I love USPS. Where else can you send something 13 oz or less from NJ to CA in 2 days for under $4?
