used it for the first time today (2 bucket system, no foam gun) and for some reason I wasn't getting enough suds. just detailed the truck a week ago. I had to squeeze it to get the suds out on the surface of the truck.

am I just not a "worthy" Shmitt user? what gives?

I too find the Schmitt holds alot of water and suds, but needs some squeezing to transfer it. Try using a foam gun to soap or a little more soap in the two bucket system.

thanks, killrwheels. will see what happens the next time around. I did use less soap than usual....i'll try my normal mix next time...

I found the same thing too.
You have to squeeze it to get the suds out. Remember how much wash water that is dropped from an ordinary mitt while taking it to the vehicle? Doesn't happen with the ShMitt.

:iagree::iagree: You got to squeeze the water out. That's one reason I like it, all the water and soap doesn't end up on the ground it all goes on the vehicle.

thanks, guys.

i'll report back when I do my 2nd wash

Is the Shmitt suitable for ONRW or DP4n1 type washing or does it need soap & suds?

I would not use the Schmitt with Spray/Wipe type products as will remove alot of dirt and store in foam. I would however use it with all bucket washing even those products that dont foam well.

Killrwheels- if I understand you correctly, then the Shmitt is okay when using a two bucket ONRW type wash (= no foam or /suds)?
Thanks.
