I've been debating ordering some of these... but in searching I find people that say they're great and have lasted 100 washes, and others say theirs de-laminated and fell apart after a few washes.

If you are a user of the Shmitt, or a past user can you please chime in here with your experience? :)

:xyxthumbs:

I have been using the Shmitt, since DTF II. I hold onto it, rather then put my hand in it.

I've only been using them for a month, but I really like them. The wheel one is killer on wheel faces. AGO has a two pack that's a good deal. I cut one on a grill, but they are well made...same material as buffing pads so they are just as durable.

Thanks. I didn't see that exterior two pack. That is a good deal!

I don't like the fact that there is no place for the dirt to go other then dragging it across the paint.

That's a concern I have with grout sponges in general. The advocates for ShMitt and Lowes Grout Sponges all say that the dirt goes into the pores of the foam.

I too like something with nap and will use a sheepskin mitt above anything else (until I find something better I guess).. I just don't like how quickly my sheepskin mitts deteriorate.

Though, being that David F remarks that he's used grout sponges for the last decade .. I tend to trust his judgement.

I think lubrication is key with any wash media. Concerns about "dragging dirt" should be addressed with a pre rinse and thick suds or and ONR type product. To date I have not induced marring with any media except a brush that I should have known better than to use. The Schmitt is very soft and safe IMHO.

I have them all. The tire wheel is my favorite! It is killer on tires, wheels and wells, I have had no problems with any of them and have had over a year. Honestly I like the LC Garage Sponge better for paint. Taking off the Shmitt to work my hose nozzle and putting it back on is a PITA. Ed has the right idea except for wells where the Shmitt protects your hand. I would buy the exterior set again. No delamination on mine FWIW.

I also have both and they both work great but my white one fell apart after a few months of use .
