I am in the process of a long term durability test on Solution Finish. Here are my findings thus far:

Solution Finish applied in September.

Outside 24/7 for 6 months, bi-weekly washes with Meg's Gold Class, maintained with absolutely nothing.

I'm sure it would maintain a darker appearance with proper maintenance. I was mainly trying to see how it would perform on a customer's car... assuming they would not be maintaining the trim. Nevertheless, a striking difference after initial application and very pleasing long term durability to date.

I give it two thumbs up! :dblthumb2:

That's pretty impressive considering it hasn't been maintained and has sat outside 24/7 for six months!

Thanks for the wright up Nick I'll have to get some to try :)

Wow. Glad you had such great results. My results were just the opposite. However, I was using it more like a dressing than a restorer, as I don't have any trim faded that bad. Maybe the wet shine dissipates fast, but the black dye look stays.

This looks like it would work great on panels that absorb dressings and look great black but fade fast. Might have to try this out.

Pretty cool huh!?

I was a little hesitant to try it due to the price for such a small bottle. When it went on BoGo I scooped up a few ounces of it. A little goes a LONG way. It only took a few drops of product to do this whole bumper (minus the little center section).

IIRC the vibrant shine went away after a few washes but the difference compared to the untreated trim has always been easily noticeable. My original plan was to take monthly pics... but... that didn't end up happening.

On non-faded plastic trim I prefer C.Quartz DLUX for protection.

I agree. You should get some to try!

Interested in this product as well but seems very pricey for the amount given. I know you use a small amount, but would you charge a client extra in which case using this product over a regular old trim dressing that fades in a couple weeks?

Sure why not, after all it cost you more money. Give them a choice, Ultimate Black for free or Solution Finish for a few bucks more. Or you could include the extra cost in your initial price.

I probably should have used a different title for this thread... LOL.

Anyway, here is how Solution Finish is holding up after 7 months. Outside 24/7, NEVER topped with anything.

what would u top this with if u did ? I applied on my wiper cowl and was fairly impressed.

I want to try topping it with DLUX. I'm not sure how well the DLUX will bond to the SF though. If that doesn't work I would just maintain it with Hyper Dressing.

stick with water based dressings only ? how about like uttg or wgets?

:updated:

Changed the oil in the truck today and checked on the Solution Finish test spot on the front bumper. As you can see it's still going strong. This is @ ~9 months, washed 2-3 times a month, NEVER topped or maintained with anything on top of the single coating of SF applied ~9 months ago.
