Should I adjust my pricing more competitively?

Great advice.

Everyone is just trying to make a living. How they do it should be respected as much as you want people to respect you. I would never hire or purchase anything from a person who demeans their competition.

And I've lived off of 100% commissions since 1991. No salary, no draw, no expenses. Nothing but what I earn.

Your doing it right bro! Nothing gives you more satisfaction than making your own way!

Well thank you all for everyone's feedback on this matter..

I just want to share good news.

Since starting my business, I have strictly been a word of mouth kind of business.

Two days ago I finally had my first call in from a placed business card in the area.

I took in data and recommended a specific package. She kindly declined my complete package but was more interested in my deluxe package.

I explained her my pricing and answers any questions she had. She thought I was higher than local detailers. But I won her business based on how I conducted myself over the phone AND as far as I can tell, being mobile helped reel it in.

Goes to show people VALUE THEIR TIME!

I am glad I was firm with my prices and honestly I didn't mind for once to see where it went if she walked away or not. Disagree or not to disagree.

Fortunately she agrees for a detail. CONFIRMED for tomorrow also!!

The lesson I learned (and also based on what you all said) there is always a car to detail. Also my prices helped weed out the ones who want the world for nothing.

My deluxe package may be below my complete package, but is better than just an interior only. Money in my pocket!

Thank you AGO for your support!

When I bought my Rogue last year I stopped at the dealership by my house on the way to the dealership an hour from my house. They talked trash about the one I had already cut the deal with. That being after they told me they could beat any deal I had. Out of respect to the other sales guy I had no intention of hanging him out. Needless to say the local guys couldn't meet the deal then resorted to trashing the other guys and saying how I'd drive all the way out there and they wouldn't live up to the deal. Excuse me, I had the offer in writing. So when the ink dried on the contract I texted a pic to the lame salesman who talked the trash and said looks like they lived up to their word.
