Should I exchange my 6.5's for 5.5's?

When I made my first purchase from AG, I got the Griots
Garage kit that came with the 6" backing plate and 6.5 CCS
pads. I also ordered extra as I learned you need several of
each during correction.

As I read and learned more, it seems most recommend the
5.5 pads as a good all around starting size.

The vehicles I'll be working on range from a 92 Mazda pickup,
a Nissan Xterra and a 2002 Dodge 2500.

I haven't used anything yet, so still new and in the packaging.

Would it make sense to contact AG and exchange out my
6.5's for 5.5's? I've already spent a small fortune and don't
want to purchase a dozen more pads.

Thanks for the help!

Greg

If they are willing to do the exchange, I would do it. 5.5 seems to be the perfect size.

Hey Greg,

I would keep the 6.5" pads as you have some larger vehicles to polish out. If you drop down to the 5.5" pads it will take longer to accomplish the same task.

Now if you have some small vehicles to work on later on then I would purchase the smaller 5.5" pads.

I have both sizes and each one has its purpose. I like the 6.5 for putting wax on the car. Additionally, it makes the detailing process faster. I use the 6.5 more than I do the 5.5.

The 5.5 is good, however, if you are used to 6.5, then you will not see that much benefit to downsize.

That is just me and my technique
