We're looking for some incredible photos that showcase your best work. It could earn you a $100 gift certificate to Autogeek.net for a monthly winner, or a $1000 check at year's end if your work is deemed the very best. Show us your detailing skills and we'll show you the money!

The Autogeek staff will pick the photo that shows the most impressive results. The winner will get a $100 gift certificate at the end of the month and be entered to win a $1000 check from Max at the end of this year.

For our final show n' shine we are looking for the best paint correction photos. For example the best swirl/scratch, and/or oxidation removal. We want to see befores and afters and a list of the products and machines used to get the results.

Submit your pictures by posting them on this thread. We will announce a winner at the end of this month. Good luck and happy detailing!

Please do not reply or comment on this thread, just post pics if you are entering this contest!

My first ever real correction work...

2005 Chevy Cobalt black (just the hood)
UDM
PB SSR 1 & 2.5 for the scratched area
LC White CCS pads
DP Clay
Aquawax LSP

Its not a full job or anything amazing, but I was proud of it for being my first time out. I got out some deep scratches from a snow scraper that I wasnt sure were going to come out, and a lot of etchings from bird crap and just never washing. The paint actually looks black now. I will give the car a full detail this spring most likely.

This is a prep I did on my Bmw 3-Series for an Ultima and Opti-Seal comparison. It had some swirls and heavy marring. I used Rotary and Menzerna.

I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring as well. Here is a job I was very pleased with, especially with the reflectivity of the paint. It was originally shown in S & S (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/9465-04-saab-1st-engine-detail-lots-pics.html)
This car was scratched up pretty good from being abused by automatic car washes. The paint was corrected using UCCL/wool pad/rotary followed by 106ff/white CCS/rotary then RMG/gray CCS/UDM and sealed with 476S. The tires were done with DG (will never use anything else!), interior cleaned woolite/water 1:10, and treated with 303 Aerospace; glass with IG. ARO was used heavily in this case: for the wheels, convertible top and engine (which was dressed with 303).

Single stage paint. What a mess. Not one panel matched because of the oxidation and one section was recently repainted. Lots of defects as you can see.

1999 Ford Lightning
Guy is in the military and had left it as his dad's place for over a year, thought it was in a garage, turned out it was outside the whole time.

I used
Duragloss 901
Portor Cable /W
Lake Country Orange, white, blue, and black pad.

For Paint Correction used

Meguiar's #83
Menzenra IP
Menzenra FP
Meguires High Tech Yellow #26

Customer did not want tires or wheels touched as he was buying new ones the following week.

Here are some pics

In the first Pic you can kinda see the oxidation on the middle of the hood and on the roof.

Second and Third Pics are of the hood before, the third is the roofbefore, white portion is oxidation that became more visiable as the vehicle dried..

The fifth picture is the hood after, kinda hard to see because it was dusk but those are cloud reflections.

last the finished product.
