Show & Shine: Farm Truck meets Pinnacle Black Label Surface Coating

Loving it Claude! Those type trucks are everywhere in these here parts. Heck, parents buy them all jacked up for their darned kids in highs school around here! (Really teaches them the value of a dollar.) NOT!

All I know is that sucker was TRASHED! I know I wasn't this OCD (like A-Geek level OCD) some years back, but GOOD GRIEF I just can't understand how people manage to trash paint that badly. Well, OK I *do* realize how they do it, but can't for the life of me come to grips with how in the world they PUT UP WITH IT! :dunno:

Little question if ya' don't mind. You said you didn't want to do a 2-step, but you used FG400 and PF2500, yes? With that in mind I'm taking it you only used FG400 on just a few select areas? That's close to a 2-step there my man.

I know from experience however that PF2500 is a great AIO and with an orange pad can finish down LSP ready time after time after time. Then again, so can 205. ;) Although 205 doesn't have that initial cut on the first pass that PF2500 does, (which is why PF2500 will remove a bit more swirls in the beginning) yet 205 makes up for it by continuing to cut all the way to the end. :xyxthumbs: (What is it, 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other.) :)

I'd probably call that, (the FG400 & PF2500) a level 1.5 correction. :D

Either way, he had to be blown away. Just hope he keeps up with you doing that quarterly package on it. :dunno: Great job buddy!

LOL, Tony! You are sooooo right!. I see kids in my neck of the woods with big ol' F250s and 2500HD and they could not care less about the exterior or the interior of the truck. Sometimes I see caked up muck and grass pilled so high I know they must have seen it but can't take 2 minutes to shake up the mats.

I did spot compound with the FG400 in a few bad spot but in all it was PF2500 95%. It never ceases to amaze me that PF2500 (a medium grit compound) does finish LSP ready..... but it does with the right pad and technique. I've never played with 205 much and when I did it did not finish the way Menz finishes for me.

Customer was very happy and I have his wife's car lined up in a couple of weeks!

Thanks for the compliment

I think the Pinnacle sealant is what really makes this truck pop. Of course, the PF2500 is what removed the swirls. Excellent work.

This is my first post on auto geek and your thread inspired me to buy Menzerna PF2500 (I currently use m105/205).

Awesome!! Great work Dr Pain!! :buffing: :coolgleam:

That Black looks Amazing!

Thanks for showing what can be done on a daily driver that is acutally used and slightly abused.

I am preparing to use Diamond Surface Coat on my tow vehicles.

One is Bright White ( no pearl) and one is a very Pearlescent White ( almost off white at the same time)

Looking forward to my results but nothing shows better than a properly prepped and finished Black vehicle..

Thanks for this post.

Wow, what a turnaround. By your description I thought It wouldn't look so good. That truck looks brand new. You always do fantastic work.

The PBL coating definitely plays a big role in getting the paint to be so glossy. If you like the Meg products you will love the Menzerna products

I am preparing to do a lighter color Volvo this weekend (weather permitting) so we shall see what can be done on those as well.

I did weigh my words to get people's attention. The truck was roughed up for sure and a few hours and solid products helped in reviving the paintwork.
