What would be the proper steps to get a show car shine I just purchased the porter cable starter kit and was just curious has to what I would need to do

Well, first :welcome: to the addiction (and to the forum).

Your first step is to gather some information by getting Mike Phillips books and watching tons of his video and understanding the differences in all the different paint defects and all the steps to get to where you want to go with your project. You will need to be familiar with the tools and products and have experience with them to make them work for you. Your goals of a show car shine also depend on one more thing. Are you trying to manipulate factory clear or a repaint. You can't start with "doodoo" and finished with a perfectly polished gem (if you know what I mean)

Hey thanks for the welcome, I have been doin this for about 4 yrs using just hand waxing, but this will be the first with a DA polisher... I'll look into all the videos and get some tips from other people on here

Mike Phillips' videos will save you a bunch of time and a world of hurt!

Welcome

Depends on the "Car Show"...Pebble Beach or local meet-up at Kip's Big Boy

Regardless; if you follow the advice of MP, you will have the nicest car in the neighborhood, at the very least
