One should never trust a bear. But if one were to train one into a pet, one should recognize the fact that they might be great compainions for years. But there might come a day that winnie the pooh snaps into natural instinct. If that unfortunate day were to ever come...said person would have no one to blame but thyself, for they knew and assumed the risks from begining.Any breed at any time is capable of any behavior. They are all animals. Responsible dog ownership is not only training it, feeding it, walking it, and loving it. It is also knowing/recognizing any situation that could potentially lead to a less than favorable outcome and stopping it before it happens.
It's just a crime that the American Pit Bull Terrier is the face of the "evil dog" in this country. They are highly intelligent (to a fault), they love kids, and are among the most trainable dogs on the planet.
If you teach it, they will do it. 1000% every time.
But it doesn't help that a certain type of person(s) train them to be something they are not and use them as fighting dogs.
For you see, if they are trained to fight, they will do that 1000% as well. All Terriers were bred by man to be tenacious in any task asked of them. And they excel at it.
