Took these two for a walk this morning. I'm used to a 13-year-old Cocker who likes to stop ever two metres to sniff something. These two ladies are quite a bit stronger, they were dragging me along like a draft horse.

It's a whole different level walking two dogs, especially two strong dogs. Did they they do the swap sides thing, where they swap sides, so you swap the leads in your hands, then they immediately swap back again, and then again. Or the one where one stops to sniff something and the other wants to keep walking, trying to stretch you out.

Naturally :ROFLMAO:

My time with these two has come to an end.

The girl on the left, Maggie, is a couple of years older and is always the leader in pretty much everything they do together. As in, first in or out of the door, first to be fed, first to be leashed up, first to get into her bed, first to go toilet....................

The girl on the right, Tilly, well she is always looking for reassurance, be that her companion or me. She also needs more affection than the other. And because Maggie inhales her food so quickly, I couldn't just feed them and walk away, I had to separate them to give Tilly a chance to eat her ration, again looking to me for reassurance.

New dogs?

Saw they are going bye bye… dog sitting I assume.

I was house sitting for one of my gardening clients while they went on vacation. Ends up being half the price for me to house sit and look after the dogs than putting them in boarding kennels. Considering I've known these two since they were puppies, it's probably better for them to be around someone they already know.

Despite working for them for 20 years, this was my first time house sitting. I didn't even consider it in the past as I was just so weighed down with stress and work. In my entire time working for them, they have always had two golden retrievers. I've seen many come and go during that time, some passed from old age or cancer.

Bonnie was one of my favorites, she was quite old when I started there. She would often come up to help me with the weeding, waiting for me to put something in my bucket and then took it back out again.

Quincy (below) cut the deepest as he was such a handsome, lovable soul, the best natured dog you could hope for. Being so big and strong, he ripped the leash out of the owners hand in pursuit of a rabbit. Never to be seen again.

Quincy with Maggie when she was a puppy............................

Maggie also helping with the weeding.........................

Maggie as the big sister to Tilly............................................

Turns out I did such a good job with them that I'll be doing the same thing in a few weeks.
