thanks for that response. you followed the uc with swirlx i currently have the 2.0 swirl remover would that be ok as a finisher or would you recommend something else. ive been trying other product but as megs is so readily available locally the only problem is all the different cut levels and numbers can get confusing

M09(2.0 Swirl Remover) is a great product but pretty mild. You can sure try and try at least a couple of passes in a test area before moving up (or down....)

Are you working by hand or machine?

The best bet is start least aggressive first then move up. ONCE you get a process dialed in (in a test area :props:) do the whole car. I reach for M09 with our Yukon and move up, our Neon probably can start with M105 with a cutting pad with diamonds glued to it to knock the swirls down.....It's got a super hard clear coat that swirls from looking at it.....

Order to help you out: From MOST to least aggressive.....

M105 - Ultra Cut Compound
Ultimate Compound
ScratchX 2.0
SwirlX
M83 - Dual Action Cleaner/Polish
M205 - Ultra Finish Polish
ScratchX
M80 Speed Glaze
end of list but M09 - Swirl Remover 2.0 falls below M80.....

M105/M205 is a popular combination, by PC/DA, Rotary and by hand!

^ Nappers diggin that #16 man , I'm on the hunt

Rasky if you are for hire, I need my garage to look like yours.... Clean and organized! I could not handle sharing photos of my garage with you all! I am proud to say I can park in there and keep the Wave Runner in there, outside of that it scares me in there.

thanks again nappers that info is great. i know this is not the topic you intended for this thread but when i saw all that megs stuff i just had to pick your brain.

im using a machine i have a flex 603 rotary and the 7424 i just recently got the solo system, pads and all but was having some issues with buffer swirls on the test hood i have (still learning the rotary) when i realized that i dont have a true finish polish. ive heard some say the 205 still needs to be followed and that the solo is a good system but but also could be followed up with a finisher. ive also heard that 105 takes some skill to work with if so im not there yet but i do have that practice hood:rolleyes: have you used the solo yet its pretty nice aside from the user induced swirls:p
anyway here you go just to keep this thread in order.....i know i know i need a lot more stuff but this habit...i mean hobby isn't cheap. :buffing::props:

Rotary is a hard machine to use, I'm left handed and it always rained product on me as I would pick up a bead backwards.....After a few moments with 2HotFord, I was picking up a bead with nary a splatter!

M105/M205 are great and get some used to. I just bought M205 and haven't used it yet!

And hey, we all got to start, I had TW/old towels and a wash cloth with dish soap when I first started to "detail" my cars......

Here is some of my stuff. All the non Meguiar's stuff I have acquired over the last 4-6 Months. I got a buddy who got me hooked on trying out different brands. Definitely hasn't been good for the pocket book.:dblthumb2:

Old thread i know, but where can i find one of these bottle holders?! It would be perfect for me!

Just kidding, this is the result of a clearance sale at Auto Zone. I owe a couple people details so this will go to good use.

I did recently snap some pics of my shelf after replacing the crappy boards with good plywood. Sanded down a bit for smoothness.

Ok, I'll play. Nothing like most people, but the pics will show 3 recent orders from AG. They also do not include my current stock. I haven't had time to find a home for this stuff because I haven't been home long enough. Please excuse the picture quality, taken with iPhone.
