SHOWDOWN v2.0: Optimum Opti-Bond v. CarPro PERL

I like optibond too but true it doesn't last as long as perl. Also have noticed that in cooler temps perl easier to apply than optibond and looks better . Optibond goes on easier and looks great in warmer temps than cold weather. Anyone else notice this?

I can get 5-8 weeks with 2 layers of Opti Bond without any rain. 10 mins of cure time before 2nd application, and another 10 mins of curing before blotting with a MF towel to prevent any sling. After a drive in the rain, it will all wash off the tire.

Has anyone noticed that opti bond turns the tire brown/leaves brown residue as it wears off whereas PERL does not?

I have been a PERL user and tried opti bond last wash and noticed the brown residue today on my wash.

Will A/B these 2 products on an upcoming wash and see if any difference is seen.

Have you guys noticed this phenomenon?

I have come to the conclusion that browning is caused by the cleaner, not the dressing. Well, the browning is caused by the anti-ozonants in the tire, which can be exacerbated by the cleaner. I know I changed cleaners but not dressings and all my browning problems went away.

Thanks. I cleaned the tires with optimum when I did my routine wash.

So what is your go to cleaner? I like the tuf shine cleaner but don't use it every wash.
