Sign-up: Autogeek's Thursday Night Detailing Clinic

First time I've had Internet in days :( I should still be able to make it, but might be a bit late because I have appliances coming in Thursday. Hh Gregg said they would call tonight with what time they are dropping it off so hopefully it's the morning.

No problemo...

This car will be a cake walk. We're going to give it the full meal deal but the swirls look pretty shallow.

I think we're going to machine decontaminate it though with Nanoskin Autoscrub pads.

:)

I see the space has been filled. I will try next week makeover.
Space is never filled.Try to make it up so we can all meet you.(Especially me since you live in my old neighborhood that I still own properties and pay taxes). We have a good time and this car does not look that bad.Boys night out with a purpose.:buffing:

Would I be able to attend the detailing clinic tonight? I wouldn't make it until about 7pm because I'm driving from Orlando.

Are you guys doing this every Thursday night? thanks and hope all is well, Scott

Well I wasn't able to make it. These dang appliances. The fridge was supposed to be a close fit. Turns out it doesn't fit.

Hope things are better out on your guys' end!

Mike, another interesting Thursday night. Though I was working on the black car, I'm curious ref how the new products used on the Mustang work out. Especially the last one who's name escapes me due to age. The one the cures over 12 hours. It's almost like products are starting to be produced that provide "clear coat" protection in a bottle! Anyway, look forward to the next Thursday of detailing. Den

Tonight's Thursday Night Makeover featured 2 cool cars. On the mustang we used the new DP products, which I will add are very easy to use when applying and buffing off. Best of all it last years not months. It made the mustang paint gloss right up, fantastic product in my opinion. On the Pontiac we did a one step correction followed with Max Wax. Thanks to Mike and everyone at Autogeek for hosting the Thursday night makeovers.

These are casual clinics and you can arrive at any time.

Hi Scott,

Long time no see... we try to do these every other Thursday night with a boat thrown in for variety since we now have our Marine31.com forum.

See this article,

How to find out if there's a Thursday night project going on?

Great questions Den and I've posted the "Pictures & Comments" thread with before, process and after pictures here,

1965 Mustang GT Convertible - Detailer's Paint Coating

Apply Paint Coating
After the Coating Prep Polish was removed it's time to apply the Detailer's Paint Coating.

Here's a tip...
When starting out with a new/clean applicator of any type, mist a little spray of the Detailer's Paint Coating onto the face of the applicator to prime or moisten the applicator. This will lubricate the surface and make the initial spreading of the paint coating easier.

Here's Robert Diterlizzi applying the coating with a gold finger pocket while Chris is ready to wipe off any high spots.
