Hi,
I have a silver Acura TSX that i'm looking to detail. It hasn't been waxed in around 2 years, but the paint is still in fairly good shape. There is some minor swirling. Would this be a good system to cover up the swirls and get a glossy look?

1. Wash with Meguiars #62
2. Mother's Clay Bar
3. Wash against with #62
4. Klasse AIO
5. Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner and Polish
6. Meguiars Showglaze #7
7. PB EX-P or Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant3.0
8. Collinite 845
9. Optimum Car wax and Instant Detailer weekly
This would be all done by hand. I'm not sure if the order is right or if this many products can be used all at once. Would I be able to add P21S Carnuba Wax on top of 845 to make it shine even more?
For the winter is Collinite the best outer layer ?

Suggestions?

Thanks

Personally I'd use a Meguiar's claybar over the Mothers one, that is if you haven't purchased one yet.

As for your process, I take it you don't have a buffer or don't want to polish it? I would put in a step of polish if you have the resources but if not it is ok to skip.

I would skip steps 5 and 6, the Deep crystal paint cleaner and Showglaze. Maybe you could use the deep crystal paint cleaner before the Klasse AIO but since you already have the AIO on there the glaze will just be wiped off the top and possibly cause bonding problems for the WG DGPS (Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant).

Adding P21s on top of the 845 is possible.

I can buy a polish, but since I have to do it by hand would it be effective?
Can you recommend a good polish by hand if so and would it go before Klasse?

I'm not an expert but I did have an 04 TSX, seems that the paint is pretty soft on these. I wasn't into detailing back then other than hand washes, claying and waxing. I would probably skip 5,6,7 and see what it looks like. I haven't tried the Collinite but everybody raves about it. I doubt using P21S over it is gonna give you more shine than the 845 alone. I'll let the pro's chime in.

If this would hide swirls then I would go for it. I used the original NXT a few years ago and that seemed to work pretty well but if 845 is more durable and shines pretty nicely then might as well go with 845. Would OCW and OID give more shine or are they unnecessary?

From your description of the car the Klasse AIO should take care of the minor swirls. The 845 is gonna give it a fantastic shine along with durability. By the way mine was SSM, is that what yours is? If so it's really an easy color to take care of.

Yeah it's SSM

So would this work then?

Wash with Meguiars #62
Mother's Clay Bar
Wash against with #62
Klasse AIO
PB EX-P or Blackfire Wet Diamond
Collinite 845
Optimum Car wax and Instant Detailer weekly

Would OCW do anything on the 845 to make it more glossy?
and Klasse would be able to get rid of some minor swirling right?

P21S won't help to make the 845 glossier then? Since it's not as durable I was thinking of just putting it on once in a while for show.

Washing after claying isn't necessary although many people do. Since your not actually machine polishing I'd skip #5 or #6. Either the BFWD or the 845 will be fantastic by themselves, although the 845's cheap. Then I'd just get a good QD for the weekly wash.

So OCW won't help really and using OID is enough?
Will would BFWD under 845 make it look deeper and wetter or will that not happen with a silver car as much?

So basically 845 over K AIO would be good enough?

Yeah Klasse is a great product alone, even better with 845 for its durability. Try to save up some money to get yourself a DA, it would be the best investment in your arsenal.

DA is good for correction paint, and applying sealant and wax and removing them.

The good thing about the silver is it hides swirls better than any other color. If I were you I'd do a one step with the wash, clay, hand polish, lsp and see how you like it. I'm sure it'll look great. Then you can decide whether you want to go to the next level and buy a DA of some kind. The most expensive wax or sealer won't help a poorly prepared surface. For that you need a polisher, pads, some energy.:buffing:
