But first, a little anecdota:
Ben (the owner) told me he wanted to detail his new (to him) Infinity QX56. At the time, it didn't mean anything to me, since I'm quite behind on the import car scene :o
So, I'm thinking is a medium size sedan, or a two-door sporty car
Well, I did some research on this particular model to see what I was going to be working with, and to find out how hard the clearcoat may be; that's when I found out it was an SUV
But it was an enjoyable experience working on this Infinity QX56. The paint was in really good shape to start with

Here we go:
This belongs to a friend, he just bought it and contacted me to do some detailing on it
When I've arrived, he had already claybarred it, and the SUV looked real nice. I did claybar the cowl a little bit more using his Adams Claybar. The SUV by looking at the before pictures looked real nice, but once I started polishing it, I started to realize a noticeable difference

The process: (clearcoat medium in hardness)
-Wash the car with Duragloss Car Wash
-Dried using WW Microfiber Towels
-Polished, and cleaned the paint with a combination of Prima Swirl and Menzerna PO85RD3.02, PC at 5 using Meguiars cutting pads

The next step was to apply Danase Wet Glaze. This glaze is free of oil, and it's a gloss enhancer made with acrylic polymers that bonds to the paint for maximum durability. I applied this using Meguiars polishing pad
-The final step was to seal the paint with Rejex paint sealant using a LC finishing pad
The roof was done with Klasse AIO, along with the painted side of the fender wells. The inner fender wells were sprayed with Adams Undercarriage Spray
Black trim I used Klasse Rubber, Vinyl, and plastic treatment

Like I said, the car looked nice, but on these next pics, you can see the difference the polish was making. Notice the front right side fender, and the passenger side door already been polished, in comparison to the rest of the back side:

Danase/CG EZ Creme glaze rock, like it better then RMG. Awsome on silver.

Man those SUV's are masive, vehicle looks great. Silver is a very difficult colour to get depth from but that bad boy looks great.

By the way that little blue toy looks like fun, but what's with the passenger seat...I'd say give up the passernger seat and ge a larger engine :righton: hahaha just teasing, that is one sweet toy.

Thank you for sharing.

I really like the Danase Wet Glaze. It provides an excellent bonding base for sealants without compromising durability
That's the combo (Danase/Rejex) I've had on my red Z06 for two weeks now

Nice job on the silver!! Where'da get the menz rd? I am wondering how that compares to the 106 which is my current favourite.

I got it from a fellow in the UK
He also sent me 250ml of the PO106FF and a 1ltr of PO85RD. I seldom use my 106 or my 85RD. They're good, but the reason why I don't use them as often is because the 3.02 finishes LSP ready everytime I use it, and that's using an LC Orange pad, or Meguiars W7006 cutting pad. I could still get anal and follow with the PO85RD, or the 106, but it's time that dictates that option...

I have one of those beasts lined up for thursday, done one already... and it's sister the nissan armada. done a couple of those!!! great job

Right on!
Do you agree the clearcoat is about medium?
I didn't find it too hard to work with...

I can see the difference with the polishing! Looks great :D. Crisper reflections. That blue car looks fun to drive in.

you really got that silver to pop. That thing looks sweet.

yea, i remmeber detailing a customers black qx56...isn't it amazing how much stuff is painted on that..once you get into it your like "when is this thing gonna end!!" its soooo freakin huge.

i detailed that car in 2004/2005 and hopefully i get my souvern and 106ff by the time i detail it. i want to try it on the customers car isntead of my typical waxes to see if thers any difference from the first time i detailed it and now. i'm sure it will loook crazy with all those freakin painted parts and large size of this vehicle

nice job by the way...!

Great job! Love that big SUV! Wonder if it has parking sensors, otherwise parallel parking might be a pain.

Killer job, you got some nice gloss on that Silver.
Mony shot!

I agree with you guys. That thing is huge!
Because I assumed it was a sedan, or a small car, I quoted him less for the job, but at the end of the day, without me saying anything, he paid me 50 bucks extra on top, so that was very nice...

ahh the wonderful world of tipping...sometimes if i knnow that someone is going to tip, i give up weird figures liek 175 or 185$ and they usually give the flat $200

doesn it make your day feel alot better when they give you more than your askin for Im the MAN

Great job on that silver SUV! Wheels look great too!
You were right....the BEFORE's didn't look too bad. But what a difference on that AFTERS!!

That is one huge SUV my friend, great job making it look that good. Nice choice on products as well...
