Is it ok to top Duragloss 105 or 111 with a pure carnauba wax?

Yeah I think it should work. 105 is pretty versatile and will accept anything on top.

I use it as a base layer polish for applying a sealant.

Isn't 105 considered a sealant?
 
I've been doing that for years. The past few winters, my Black DD has had a cocktail of DG501 to clean, followed by DG105, both mixed with DG601. I've used Collinite 915, 476 or FK1000p as the final layer and it lasts nearly forever on a DD parked outside 24/7 in PA.
After my spring cleanup, I topped 105 with Natty's Black.
Last night I did another pass of 105/601, topping it with FK1000p. Normally, I'd play around with beauty waxes in the summer, but I have wild cherry trees overhanging my driveway and now that the fruit is ripening, the combination of bird droppings and half eaten fruit are playing havoc with the finish. Hopefully, my normal winter combo will be more resistant to the garbage from above, while still looking good.

Feel free to top with your fav carnuaba. 105 is a great sealant on its own but if you want more of a carnuaba look feel free to top it.

Thanks for all the input. Just started using Duragloss this year. Trying to keep my 2014 BLACK 4runner protected and looking good. I'm just a weekend warrior with OCD and takes pride in my ride.

Yes....but why :)? I will 501 - 105 - 111, all mixed 4:1 with 601 and let each layer cure for 24 to 48 hrs. But I like the "shiny hiny" look. Of course, regular maintenance with any DG product with Aquawax gets me nearly a year of solid protection. (Ask me about the "down to the bone" DG technique I will do on my wife's black suv for winter.)

I have a car with paint in great shape so I use it as base layer for its minor correcting/cleansing abilities it claims. I use it along with DG601 and makes for a great base coat. I also use their 101 which is a cleanse/polish/AIO as a base layer.

DG 105 has the same versatility as Klasse or any other AIO for a great base layer if your paint is already in good condition. Mine is.

If it's a sealant, why top it with a sealant? I can see topping it with a wax.
 
In my experience.... topping 105 with pure-sealant 111 (after the 105 cures) adds another dimension of "shine" and durability. But so does topping 105 with Fast Clean and Shine detail spray or Aquawax.

105 is more of a AIO than a 100% pure sealant like Powerlock or M21.

It does have minor correcting and cleansing abilities with fine abrasives thus making it a AIO than a pure paint sealant.

I know this place is crawling with opinionated 'know it alls' but if only they bothered to read the manufacturers specs on the product rather than giving out their own unfounded opinions, you would find out what the product actually does,

Like the person above mentioned, 105 works great in tandem with the 111 which is actually a pure sealant.

Same as using Klasse AIO (which is a sealant in itself for the most part) and topping with Klasse high gloss sealant glaze.

Works well for my needs and many others. Try it..... before you knock it.

Why?
 
I think 105 has chemical cleaners, which are a great thing, but in terms of removing swirls, I think it is a function of the pad. A great product, for sure, but I do not believe 105 has much / any abrasive polishing in it. The word 'polish' is just a name they use. I think 501 has some abrasives in it and a bunch of chemical cleaners. That's just my experience.
