Simple Green on wheels and tires.

Do you have any pictures of just the AA foam without the gel?
 
Simple Green cleaning tips suggests using it for wax removal at a 1:5 ratio, and let sit for 5 to 10 min. It says that it might be necessary to reapply for..................reasons. Personnally I like it for engine degreasing 1:1, never used it on wheels.
 
Just used AA Foam & AA Gel on back tires and wheels. This was done the way I thought Justin said that he did it. Put Foam on while wet and wipe off . I used terry cloth and it was incdedible how much black comes off ( what I thought was a pretty clean tire ). I sprayed into wheel wells as a cleaner. Alot more black on the towels. Anyway on the front tires and wheels I used DP Gel Wheel Cleaner and DP Gloss Tire Gel (both of these were awesome to use and it looks like a little goes a long way). End result. Both sets look great. I'll give a slight nod to the DP in front.
 
Wait, so what was better. The fronts? Would it be better to use a tire brush or a towel?
 
Sounds like he thought the DP did better. Id go with a tire brush and fender well brush.

Adjustment of pH and dilution are usually required before disposal to a drain.
Simple Green is corrosive and will react with bare aluminium causing hydrogen embrittlement (this is also known as stress cracking corrosion).

As the cleaner gradually ferments it reduces the pH from its normal mildly alkaline state to acidic. Slow corrosion of the aluminium results, generating a little hydrogen on the surface. Anaerobic conditions also generate hydrogen and hydrogen sulphide bio chemically, producing small amounts of methane. The aluminium probably has sufficient residual stress to be susceptible to hydrogen stress cracking, and this can be accelerated by the sulphide.

I'd be very curious to see which one holds up better. I've always used AA Gel, but compe spring I think I'm gonna have to switch to DP since I can buy it in bulk.
