I didnt have time to do a full detail this weekend, but I went ahead and washing my Vette, and put another coat of P21s Concourse look on it.

A couple thoughts. First, I had Wet Glaze 2.0 under it when I did a full detail this spring. While the shine is similar now without the glaze, it lacks the wet look it had before. Before it looked as if 1/8" of water was sitting on the car at all times, I cant say it does with just the wax, but the shine and gloss is excellent!

Secondly, when I first sprayed her with water, it beaded tightly, but after washing it, there was nothing left. Beading was large and irregular, and after drying the paint felt absolutely bare. I think Wet Glaze 2.0 just comes off when you wash, and takes whatever wax is on top with it. I noticed something similar when I put some on top of FK1000p last year on the hood of my daily driver. After it rained, the beading was gone, kaput. I think its an excellent product for a beauty queen, or weekend warrior like my Vette, but I would suggest against using it on a daily driver.

On to the pics of the finished product, before I stored her again, hopefully briefly.

Nice to see "non bling" factory wheels on a Vette, wished more people went this route, especially on the ZR1! Love the color and just curious, is red interior and option with that color exterior?

I believe on the higher option packages you can get red interior with any color, but I ordered mine with the lowest package, with black the only option for color.

Looking nice! Are you a member over on CF? I feel like i have seen the same username.

Your car is stunning! That color + those wheels with clean barrels look great together.

Thanks, I was going to splurge on the comp grey wheels but figured the contrast would be better with the silver ones. The chrome ones weigh 5lbs more per wheel and cost 1000$ so that was out.

That is a beautiful C6 you have, is the color Dark Spiral Gray?
Magnificent!

By keeping the finish maintained this is all that's required to keep the finish looking sparkling. Your Corvette looks spectacular!! :props:

Thanks, maintaining is a lot easier than fixing problems. So far all I have done is use a finishing polish once a year, and then a detail with P21s paint cleaner an additional 2x a year, always followed with a Carnuba or Glaze/Carnuba combo. I dont drive it from November through March, so that helps also.

Hey Knee, speaking of contrast, since you've got the silver painted wheels, have you ever considered adding silver GS stripes on the drivers fender, IMO that would bring it all together quite nicely:props:

I debated getting the stripes when I purchased the car, but could never decide on what color would look best.

One thing I am planning, is to paint the roof and halo the Chevy metallic black color called "carbon flash metallic". I will probably do it this winter.

Here is a guy on the corvette forum who has done it

That's a nice touch for sure, I'd add the silver stripes on the fender, surely you can buy them at the dealership or have your local vinyl shop do the work for you:props:
