I only really used dual side wool pads, some site says the dual side setup is out dated. Any thoughts on this, cons pros?

I only have one wool pad. I almost never use it. When I do use it I get so pissed at how much haze/holograms it creates I end up just going back to foam or MF.

The reason the double sided pad is around is due to the fact that it's perfectly balanced. Somting you'll nothice when doing this for hours on end.
They are the best for big cutting jobs.
I have both and the DS works great and I use my SS on spot work.

I mostly (only) work on boats(rotary),I'm very slowly edging my way to car/paint. I bought a Megs DA v2 polisher, but have have yet to use it. Currently I'm limited to what my boss instructs me to do, (compound, wool&wax), I want to do more but limited at the moment. I have yet mess around with auto paint, besides a little on my old Camry, I've learned alot @ autogeek, just want to take in more knowledge before I attempt a project(wife's new car). I've had some DS pads that where off balance, unless my extension bolt is crooked(Unlikely).
