My sisters been asking me to detail her baby mobile for a while now, but being a single mother she can never find the time to leave it with me, but finally this past weekened I was finally able to get to it. She told me she would be back home on Saturday around noon, but she didnt get back till 3 in the after noon, which was ok, gave me plenty of time to set up, which ill show you in the pics. Anyways, didnt stop Saturday till midnight and started back up on it around 11 a.m. the following day and didnt finish till about 11 pm, so a good 20 plus hrs of work and that was only doing the exterior. The paint condition wasnt horrible, light swirling, watermarks, but a fair amount of RIDS, and the front bumper was basically shot due to bug etching, thought about wetsanding it, but decided the etchings were to bad and it would take to long to correct, thus there are no pics of the bumper. I did however give it a quick pass with the rotary, shined it a lil. As for the rest of the car ill let the pics do the talking, all I can say is the best metal flake pop I have ever seen, from the door james to the fender, just WOW!!!! Well on the the good stuff........
PROCESS:
WASH:
Presoak - Dawn/CG APC via Foam Cannon
Wash - Dawn, CG APC, CG Wheel Cleaner, MF Mitt, and Various Detailing Brushes
Clay - DP Universal Clay and CG QD
(clayed while still wet)
Dried - CG MF WW Towel and ONR
WetSand - 3M 2000 and CG QD
(wetsanded the side mirrors and various deep scratches/paint defects)
Compound/Polish - 2 Makitas, 5" and 3" BP,
CG Hex Pads (Orange and White - 5.5" and 4"),
Menzerna SIP and 106, IPA Wipe Down, and
Plenty of MFs
Hand Polished Door Jams with 106 and MF Pad
LSP - Megs. # 21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 x2
(Found it a Oreilly's for $20, figured I'd give it a try and for a $20 Sealant it is very impressive, purple in color, somewhat of a chemical smell, very easy to spread, very even coats, and very easy to wipe off, no residue or streaking, very slick finish and in my case major flake pop and depth, a must have and a new fav. Used on paint, door jams, windows, trim, and rims.)
Wheels/Tires - Megs. #21 on Rims, Megs. Hotshine Spray and Megs. Endurance Gel.
Windows - Hand Polished with DP Glass Polish and Sealed with Megs. #21
Trim - Cleaned with Klasse AIO and Sealed with Megs. #21
Final Wipe Down - Megs. Ultimate Quick Wax
(another must have in my opinion)
