Skoda Octavia vRS CR170 TDI (2008)

more of an update:

On a positive note, decided to prepare the car for winter, wash and decontaminate, then a single stage correction to remove any light wash scratches then protected with Fusso99 Coat 12. Now i have not rated this in the past, but decided to give it another chance. This time i ditched their supplied applicator and opted for a german application using the soft side. I felt the supplied applicator the pore are too big and allows the applicator to become clogged up resulting in uneven application. Im very happy with the results and didnt notice as much or any ghosting/wax hologramming/staining.

The results:

There are plans for the car but it will be slow progress

Little update...something thats been annoying me for ages....the brake calipers and in particular, this one:

Decided it needed remedied, so today i repainted all 4 calipers:

Not the best finish to them but much more vibrant than the dull look they were before

Next update, a little rejuvenation of the car with some new front and rear badges as the originals were a bit tired looking

So a little update:

Ill start by shaming myself, working soo much between detailing cars and teaching snowboarding I dont get much time to work on my own car (well to spend a decent amount of time on the car), so wanted to get some light/Meduim swirls out, so opted for the Megs MF system via DA and didnt refine well enough resulting in this:

So decided to do what i did with the rest of the car and use the Rupes system (no cutting stage) which achieved the results i was looking for:

The rest of the car once completed was then treated to Zaino Z2 to increase gloss and offering some protection then topped with Angelwax Desireable:

and finally decided to fog the interior and deodourise it and add some new car scent :)

Really enjoy working on the car in this lovely weather, so will try and figure out whatelse i can do with my spare time :)

Silly but small improvement...the kicksills.

Before:

After:

Polished using Gtechniq M1 and then sealed with Britemax Final Shine

little update:

Applied some Glass sealant

Also after replacing the old badges with replacement older style badges i went on a trip down to birmingham and when i got back realised there was a dent in the badge....so decided to purchase newer style badges:

the old ones, you might notice the dents next to the arrow points:

Replaced with new style badges:

Didnt think i would be happy with how they look, but i am.

Another update, unfortunately the aircon was not holding the gas for longer than a few days, it had been charged and pressure tested and everything fine, so had dye put through the system and was found the condenser was leaking. so a new one was fitting and recharged:

and a little pic of some beading on the front windscreen (Gtechniq G1 applied recently) and the paintwork (Angelwax Desireable)

So yesterday i decided to try my new purchase, some Autofinesse Desire as i have been using Angelwax Desireable and to compare against each other...

Application very easy, the wax is very high in oils and seems softer than angelwax, but that could be down to ambient temperature as it was in the mid twenties.

Going by the instructions on the tin it says leave for 10 mins then remove, i found it quite difficult to remove, also to go back to buff any additional residue off with a clean cloth....i went through many cloths and each time the were loading up with the oils.

I decided i would try the Angelwax Desireable method, apply and buff off panel per panel, it worked so much easier, it was light night and day with very little rebuffing to be done.

End results:

My conclusion about the wax, if going by the instructions its not the easiest wax i have used (and i love using waxes), but adapting methods its nicer and a bit more forgiving, just waiting to see durabity and water behaviour.

Another update 05/06/2016

So i needed two new tyres but got offered some BBS CH 18" recently refurbished in BMW Sepang Bronze with good tyres for only £100 more than the two tyres i costed up....so now the car is looking like this:

Really happy with how they look on the car

Finally got round to coating the new BBS CH alloys. Used Gtechniq C5 to offer the protection im looking for

Little bit of touching up today, every corner had paint removed from some form of contact with something else, so got myself some touch up paint and went to work

In all honesty this is a temp fix as im looking to have the bumpers resprayed soon, or look at other options...

Also been using some of this Dodo Juice Spray Air Frenshener....It smells incredible
