SLIM Extended Reach Wheel Barrel tools

Yard stick…. Cut in half and glue together…….cover with a MF.

Or speedmaster brush

I like the yard stick idea. Whish I had thought of it...though I would probably not glue the haves to gether in order to get the smallest tool possible.

On my last car, the clearance was so tight between my winter wheels and the brake caliper a Speedmaster brush would not fit. Even with my larger summer wheels, it still barely fit.

I can see this becoming a larger problem as performance vehicles continue to come with larger brake systems or people install larger aftermarket brake kits.

Cut 1/3 of yard stick off and glue back on one end - now you have one end with single thickness, one with double and a little extra rigidity. :D

Barrell Blade came in. It is a well made and well thought out tool.
The coarse plastic threads on handle-wheel cleaning shaft feel & engage nice.
In looking at the MF sleeve, it's not just a *straight sleeve, with a hole* that slips over the tool.
It's got 2 positions you can engage it in, fastened by buttons on the sleeve.
*I'm comparing this to Pro Grade Window Washing Scrubber Sleep and the way these sleeves that go over those window washing T bars*. They just slip on snugly as it's *very snug cut* and then fixed by Velcro.

The AF one has a -profile- to how those buttons snap. Since it's not perfectly straight, that also infers cost cutting was not part of the design, since it's not just one straight profile....some some material was cut wider and some was cut narrower.
Just off the cuff unboxing observations..

This brush is capable of fitting into the thinnest gaps of all. I’ve been using these brushes for years. Never scratched a thing. Anyone who’s complaining about needing to fit and doesn’t have 1 of these is missing out.

Not too long ago I finally decided to try a Whoolie style wheel brush. Used that Whoolie once, it sucked, didn’t fit, it’s been in the backyard somewhere ever since. Next time I see it it’s going in the trash.

Have you tried this brush on Matt black?

Yes. Last week I did the neighbors newish black Camaro with 20” matte black wheels. Worked great. No issues.

Also, keep in mind that I always use it straight from my wheel bucket filled with fresh soapy water, as most anyone of us would. Just thought I’d mention that as that brush brand new and dry feels a bit on the firm side. It’s a big softy similar to how BRS is.

I just used the AutoFiber Barrel Blade. I still prefer the Wheel Woolie for most of the -grunt work- of cleaning the inner wheel barrel

The AF is slim and will reach between a tight wheel/caliper wheel/rotor.
It reaches nicely all the way to the back of my 11.5" Wheel barrel
It works well going in straight.
Even on traditional 7 Spoke Y Style Wheel, I find that since the shaft holding the Microfiber sleeve is just a bit large (thin, but still wide), movement AFT left or right is a bit cumbersome due to the rectangle shaped shaft, and the clearance of the insertion point of the tool of the spoke. It hits the spokes before I get to move it much left or right.

Whereas with something like the Wheel Woolie, it is 75% less width, so even using the *large* wheel woolie, in the same spoke, I can move/scrub the barrel a bit to my left and a bit to my right.
The barrel blade does allow some movement, but not alot.....as the width just hits the spoke as you veer it left or right.

I was rushed - squeezing the morning wash before we headed out today.
I'm not sure if it's the overall -width- of the barrel blade is my issue or that part that sticks out.
Pretty sure it's just the overall width as I was just not happy that I could not wash with the barrel blade *aft left and right* like my other wheel tools. Just mainly straight.

Excellent idea.
Brushes are $70.00 which is about $50.00 too much. This is 70 cents. I know what I am going to do. Can even make a double ended with an angle on opposite end.

over on the river site they have this wheel brush that looks to be just like the AF barrel blade minus the color of the handle and microfiber sleeve. half the price ($19.99) and you get two sleeves...
