Slow shipping from AGO.

I only have one simple suggestion that will make customers very happy because they will receive their packages quicker:

Use USPS to ship packages when possible.

Once I have ordered anything, from anybody, from anywhere:
I never resort to habitually querulous behavior regarding shipping.

Instead...I just peruse the threads where others have taken the opportunity to do so.
Next thing I know...Voilà!!...The package(s) has/have arrived.

Bob

Great advice, Bob! Watched pot never boils.

Well as I mentioned earlier I know it's not AG's fault and I try and be as patient as possible.

But take my most recent order for example. Ordered on 8/29, shipping confirmation and tracking received on 8/30 and UPS's tracking shows a scheduled delivery date of Wed 9/11.

That's a pretty long wait :(

Where I live USPS is terrible. They loose packages, sit them at the wrong house, or just put them anywhere. They will not re-deliver a package that needs to be signed for. You get 1 time only - they will leave a slip, but will not leave the package, even if you sign the slip and leave it like the slip states. You must drive to the post office, and hope they can find it.

I've brought this up at the post office 3x now, each time I get "your mailman is on vacation". As if that's a valid excuse to begin with. I also get other people's mail and sometime their packages.

I think they hate me for sure now after I complained. The last 3 DVDs I have got from Netflix have been cracked up in a zillion pieces. How could 3 in a row be broken, received 3 different days, when I've had Netflix for years and never received a broken disc?

Honestly, a long time ago some guy who worked for the post office told me a lot
Of mail carriers drink on the job. He also told me one guy would pee all over the junk mail bundles.

Have you ever tried to use their tracking system? It said a package was arriving 8/29 - and that was on 8/30. When I called the post office they said they still haven't received it.

I sent my first order to AG and got notice that it shipped on 8/20 to my home near Seattle. It was delivered on 8/28--9 days later. About the same time I ordered auto parts form a compaqny in Florida and one in Georgia. They both got here in 4-5 days. Another company I frequently do business with ships fom NYC and also arrives significantly sooner than my AG order did. All these other examples were shipped UPS ground. I love AG and will continue to patronize them, but the slow shipping time is a concern. George

Im a little disappointed with AGO shipping lately as well. My latest order was placed Monday, labor day. I fully expected it to ship out Tuesday. Nope. Today I get an email stating it wont ship until Thursday....estimated. Apparently an item i ordered is on backorder, even though it didn't state that when i ordered, in fact, it still shows "in stock", on the website. I never order backordered products, if I had known, I wouldn't have. The other products, such as DP coating, I needed this weekend. Thanks to bad inventory and failing to update their website, I wont be getting it until next week. So much for the "order before 5:30 and it ships the same day."

Also, all my other orders have taken 5 days to arrive. I've never waited longer than 4 days from UPS, no matter where it shipped from.

This latest issue has left a pretty bad taste.

I placed a order on 8/30 and it was shipped the same day. I have been following the tracking details and it has gone like this. Left Stuart, FL, went to Orlando, FL, went to Jacksonville, FL, went to Knoxville, TN, went to Sharonville, OH, went to Maumee, OH, and out for delivery today. That is a lot of stops along the way.

Same here. I ordered opti dual pro applicators (3 pack). Ordered it over weekend and wont be here til Monday or Tuesday next week. Just put the damn small package in the mail already. USPS takes 2 days from Florida to Mass. Ridiculous.

I have had the same issue with CG ordered on 8/30 and won't arrive until Monday according to tracking.

Instances like this are few and far between. I apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. Send me a PM with your order number and I'll make a note to include a freebie with your next order.

I guess you can say it's UPS but I just shipped something off to Flordia. USPS cheapest option they had. It took 2 business days.

Yeah but was that a large box full of detail supplies? It's hardly fair to compare a usps shipment that you don't even state what it was to a large UPS shipment. And some of the worst service I receive is from usps, I've seen a simple letter take 2-3 weeks to get to someone. AG has the fastest shipping out of there facility of anyone I have ever ordered from, the rest is in UPS's hands as is the damage. I sell packaging for a living and they also do an excellent job of packaging their products. If UPS damages it that's not AG's fault. I have to say I think your comments and the other guys comments about something always wrong are misguided. I have had nothing but excellent service on over 20 orders since last April 2012. They have also been very flexible if I forgot free offer they have shipped it with my next order. Lucky for me I live in Florida so when I order it always comes next day, ups ships next day within Florida.

PS when I order from Chemical Guys in California it takes over a week for the items to arrive in Florida. So again, hardly AG's fault, it it was it is. If you want it faster pay for an upgraded service.

As for the other guys comments about ups sitting on packages, not a chance. With tracking provided you can see where it is at all times. And I hardly think the companies shipping with ups would put up with that kind of service. That's absurd. There's always FedEx waiting in the wings to pick up the slack and take the customers away from ups.

I'm wondering if part of the problem could be a lag in time from "when the label is created" to when the actual package leaves the building. Who know if you package has actually left the building when its in the "shipped" status.

It seems like a lot of other places use Fed-Ex and USPS, both of which seem faster. I have to admit, out of every place I order stuff from, It always takes the longest to get here (PA) from AG.

I'll order from CarPro USA on a Monday and have it on Wed. If I order from DD or DI it ussly takes 3 to 4 days. If its AG I'm looking at 5 BUISNESS days usually, which if fall over a weekend turns into a week. I've even ordered stuff from the Ultimate Finish (its in Europe) and it arrives in 3 days (they use DHL) - and their in another country !

And if I order from DI to ship down here to Florida it takes atleast 7+ days same for CG from Cali.

Funny you mention that. A couple of months ago I placed an AG order (to California) and it actually arrived in my towns UPS facility 2 days early. I was excited to see this as this means my estimated shipping was not for a couple of more days. It was early in the morning when I noticed this so for sure I thought it would be delivered by this evening as past practice has shown me. Well my package sat there for 2 days and it was delivered on the date it had shown me. I advised the delivery guy my package was in town 2 days early and why it wasn't delivered sooner. His response was this, "If you want faster shipping then pay for it." I replied with "why would UPS sit on my package, taking up space in your facility? You would think UPS would want to deliver packages as soon as available." He replied, "well, if they did that, people wouldn't pay for quicker shipping as they would get their packages in 2-3 days for the price of ground shipping which is 5-7 days."

I'm not blaming AG for this as it's clearly UPS' fault but I sure wish they used a different carrier. I've had great experience with FedEx here and have never seen them sit on packages. I'm hoping AG makes the switch soon.

That sucks. As for FedEx, DI uses them and it usually takes over a week for their stuff to get down here to Florida from upstate NY where they are located. If I ordered on a Monday I wouldn't get it until the next following Monday. I ordered an item this past Sunday shipping from Wisconsin via ups it won't bere here until 3/9. So go figure.

Thank you. Just anther reason I support you guys (and girls :) ), always willing to make things right and take steps to show your appreciation for your customers.

Thank you, Nick!

I believe the customer service, support and interaction you get from AG is the best, compared to any other online detailing company.

Shipping does take a while. I ordered some stuff from detailed image and it literally took 2-3 days, where as ordering a brush from AG through Amazon on Sunday and having it arrive the next Tuesday, Labor day was Monday, really stinks but I know if there is any issues with it I have someone to get back to me about it or talk to.

Detailed Image is the only other company I have ordered from, other than directly from a manufacturer (like nanoskin). Accroding to a statement above they are located in NY and I am in WI. I ordered a couple things on Wednesday evening and it was here on Saturday afternoon via FedEx. With AG it more than likely would of been here the following Tuesday-Wednesday and with UPS I always get the packaged around 6-7pm. But, it's a trade off with their support and customer service imo.

I love the AG forums so I mean no disrespect. But anyone saying AG CS is the best of ANY other online detailing supply stores seriously has their blinders on BIG TIME. I'm not saying AG is BAD, only that there ARE others out there that do it better for some people.

I only ordered through AG once or twice, and I had no problem with shipping times to Hawaii. My problem with ordering through AG is that the shipping costs to HI are ridiculous, and they dont offer cheaper alternatives like USPS Shipping. Especially annoying on 1gal sized products. I regularly have 5gal buckets shipped here for $50 each, AG was trying to get close to the same for a 1gal??? Other websites have jumped on the opportunity that AG flat turned down on me, and shipped through USPS. Not only that, since I order in bulk many other sites have given me free shipping.. yes thats right FREE SHIPPING TO HAWAII (Go check the fine print on AG). I recently purchased 240 microfiber towels (25% the price of AG) and got Free shipping on 2 HUGE boxes through USPS. And just yesterday through another competitor site I ordered $200+ worth of supplies with free shipping.

At this point it really wouldnt change things if they offered USPS to me, I found places that go above and beyond and even if I spend a little more there, I appreciate that they care enough to go a little out of their way for a customer.

I'm from Hawaii too and no complaints about AG customer service. Yes, shipping to Hawaii could be cheaper. When you live in Hawaii, you tend to shop around to find the best price + shipping deals out there (versus locally) from reputable places. My first order from AG was using the 20% off new members discount and ordered a bunch of stuff that came out to be a better deal than my usual places to buy things.

I noticed in AGs shipping terms that they do use USPS to ship some of their packages (mostly overseas). Is it possible to ship our domestic order via USPS Priority Mail if we request it in the comments box?
