Small Flex interest thread

I'd be interested for sure. I almost bought PE8 until I realized it was a rotary and I'd probably trash something if I tried using it

I would rather have the PE-8 be smaller than just have another oscillating machine. For the most detailed correction, a rotary is obviously the only option where "surgical buffing" is needed.

Although this "surgical buffing" is really only needed on less than 10% or even 5% of cars, I'd rather have a a more refined PE-8. I wouldn't mind having a very small orbital (1-3mm orbit), but you can never be as precise as a rotary.

I really thought that FLEX would have introduced a smaller forced rotation version at SEMA. I was actually holding out hope for that.

HUMP

This. Forced rotation is what makes FLEX a FLEX. A smaller offering would've been fantastic.

I would be interested in a small rotary version as well. That would beat the small pads on a drill hands down.

Ive been in talks with a manufacturer and may have something in the works
Just have to actually pull the plunge to get started and will post a link on autopia as I'm not sure it'll be allowed on autogeek..but hey I can try as the link won't be for saleing it
Along with a somewhat ends all multiple need for polisher feature
Had the idea for over a year, just never looked into what it'd take till a couple months ago

I've been wanting a small DA for the small areas.

What I like with the flex is the build quality and performance and that I'm not limited to pad choice.....by that I mean i'm not limited to this "using our pads = best balance, rotation etc.". That would mean altering my technique, trying new things and learning a new type of machine altogether. This is the only reason I did not get a rupes mini (apart from the 4" pads). The ibrid is convincing, but would never be as covincing as a flex with 3" pads.

I would love the pe8 flex kompakt and the access to pads as small as 1", but as a hobbyist, I don't think i am or will ever be comfortable buying a rotary.

TL/DR - Hell yes to the mini flex :dblthumb2:

:iagree: well said .
