Sneak Peek! - McKee's 37 *New Product Line* at Cars & Coffee Tech Session Tomorrow!

Re: Sneak Peek! - McKee's 37 *New Product Line* at Cars & Coffee Tech Session To...

I learned years ago to stay within the family for best results and eliminate needless work and expense.

That's actually something I explain in my how-to book (one of them or possibly a couple of them), and teach and practice.

It's called

A system approach

And I'm a systems guy.

Nice Caddy

She is a beauty!

The guys attending my 3-day detailing class in May will get to do the real paint correction, polishing and waxing on her.

I'm trying to get a second classic Cadillac here for the May Class

Competition Ready 3-day detailing class - May 6th, 7th and 8th

NOTE: IDA Skills Validation Testing on Monday the 9th - so if you're attending this class you want to include Monday in your travel arrangements.

For a second I thought about asking if it was yours.. [based on the sweet after photos, and also because I've got a pretty good inclination that those perticular Caddys are your favorites] :)

But as soon as I saw the before photos I knew right away there was no way on earth that could possibly be your Caddy. Lol.
Unless you had just purchased it a couple days ago or something:)

This convertible Caddy belongs to my friend Bill Crispin. What's really cool is he'll let me borrow it anytime I like. So I save it for date night with my wife Stacy who loves this car.

This is the nicest 59 I've owned... and you're looking at the original factory paint.

Our 1959 Cadillac with only 56,000 original miles still has its original factory paint. It was stored inside most of its life. Unfortunately, it was not properly maintained over the years and had been parked outside for at least one full year before we bought it. It had heavy oxidation throughout and rust stains on the vertical panels below anywhere trim was attached. We meticulously massaged the paint back to show room condition.

This is the 1959 Cadillac I drove to work when I worked at Meguiar's in Irvine, California. I never had it painted, (wanted to but family first).

I did install a 468 Big Block Chevy and Turbo 400 into it though and for a 5000 pound car it got it on!

Here's the engine going in. You can see the Flattop in the background as well as my 1966 Chevy Milk Truck, which also has a 396 Big Block Chevy in it.

If you look close you can see the front license plate says,

Bad 59

That's really cool Mike!

You should do an article about all the cars you've owned throughout your life and maybe their relation to detailing! I think that would be an excellent read for all of us on this forum!

@Mike Phillips. You see, I knew it!

Funny thing is I once saw a vid where Barry Meguiar was talking about you and your cars. [those exact cars] Must've been your Birthday or something..

I'm not sure because I don't remember all the details, but the 1 thing I do remember is smiling because I didn't know you were a Cadillac man:)

I have no idea how I stumbled across that video, and I probably couldn't find it today if you paid me. Lol.

...So when you replied to my 1st post here on AGO and mentioned the common interest in Caddys I smiled and thought "believe me, I know" :)

I'd LOVE to see that video!

Funny thing is... when I used to drive the Milk Truck to work, I would park it behind the Customer Care and R&D Laboratory building. It was so big and so YELLOW that I didn't think Barry or anyone else at work like it.

I regret selling the Milk Truck. It was so cool. I do have a lot of stories with the Milk Truck. I know where it's at...

Here's the Milk Truck with a 1950 Studebaker Starlight Coupe with a Carson Top at the GoodGuys Show in Puyallup, Washington in about 2001

One thing for sure to bring this thread back on topic....

If I had the Milk Truck today I would be using McKee's 37 Jeweling Wax on it to maintain the shine. It would be a no-brainier.

I spoke with the guy I sold it to about 2 years ago. He said he drove it home from SoCal to Vegas after he bought it and then parked it and never drove it again.

He collects cars with big block Chevys. That's what he liked about it besides it being a real Milk Truck.

He told me if I ever wanted to buy it back he'd be interested in seeing it go to the right home.

Yea yea, they were making jokes about a certain vehicle that you would drive to work. Sounds spot on like that milk truck. Either that or the rusty 59' coupe.. They had a slideshow showing pictures I believe. I'm sure you remember the time.. I'll try and find the vid. I think it had to come from 1 of those rare accounts that was active at TNOG waay back in the days. The type of vids only the super detailing geeks would look far enough to find. Lol.

Nice guy to keep that offer!

Is there a launch date on the mckees 37 yet? Would like to try it out. Been wanting to hone things and have a better systamatic approach! Is this da only or can it compound with rotary?
