Sneak Peek Review: McKee's 37 Tire Coating

I currently have 3 coats on mine, and it still doesnt look as glossy as the pictures here.. Oh well. Next.

As a follow up...I am very impressed on how long this has lasted. While the tires no longer have the gloss they initially did, they definitely still have a satin finish that looks better than when the tire was unprotected. I was expecting a month but this has exceeded my expectations.

Thanks for the update. I have been satisfied with DP Tire Coating. Once I use up my stash I will be switching to McKee's. The tire coating is a great product.

Maguires aerosol tire coat

Give McKee's tire coating a shot. It will blow away that Meguiar's aerosol not only in looks but in durability as well.

I like the coating but could only get 2 cars done with it (3 coats on one, 2 on other). The way they market this, they said it is enough to do dozens of tires. Far from that in my experience.

Maybe you over-applied it? Coatings generally go on very, very thin. Dressings tend to go on thick.

I'm a Duragloss 253 guy. I keep trying other stuff and coming back to DG. It just has the right look for me and lasts long enough. Having said that... this stuff looks very good and I'm going to have to give it a try.

McKee's seems to be knocking it out of the park on new products...

In Nick's how to videos, he mentions about applying one thick coat.

Heavier than I would have expected for a coating. Still far less than most dressings. I'll sometimes apply two dripping wet layers of the DG product to get a tire looking good. Occasionally a 3rd.

Per Nick's video (@2:30): "If you like a low gloss satin shine, just put on a real thin coat."

I've had the coating on the tires for 4 weeks now with 3 coats each. I can barely tell it's even on there. Has a faint look to it. A little disappointed in the durability part of it. I cleaned the tires extremely well but there is no way this lasts a year as advertised. Oh well.

I've noticed that some tire compounds don't take the coating to well, affecting the longevity and look of the coating. My dad's good years do this which is why I went back to a conventional tire gel. It did the same thing with tuf shine tire coating.

The tires on my car on the other had has the tire coating looking good for 4 months now with no drop in performance.
