Well, winter is back in full force which means cleaning snow off the car, including painted surfaces.

I'm at a loss trying to find a snow brush that has a minimal impact on the paint - it seems most brushes are very stiff and the bristles feel scratchy.

Has anyone found an "acceptable" snow brush?

Regards,

I'm a fan of the product called Sno-Brum:

It's a foam material and is fairly safe to use on the car. It's rigid so its very easy to remove large amounts of snow while leaving a few centimeters of snow left -- so you don't touch the paint at all with the brush / brum. WalMart has a similar product which is red for about $20 I believe.

Agree...:iagree:......:whs:.....:D...I've been using Sno-Brum for a few years now. Great product...

Thanks!

Now to find it (or something like it) locally.

These are available at Amazon... I wonder if Autogeek has any interest is stocking these?

Any reason a leaf blower wouldn't work? Or are you looking for something more mobile?

Something to keep in the car.

What about Montana Boar Brush with telescopic handle? I use a similar version (not boar hair) on my beater and works perfect, although i never looked at the scratches left behind im sure boars hair would be 100 times better. The brush works wonders on a soft snow even over 1' since my car is always out doors in this wonderful weather , and with this telescopic handle i can do the whole car not just the windows in fraction of the time of what it took me to do with the small snow brush.

How about one of these?

Sorry, but nothing touches my paint! We used the snow brooms at this high volume detail shop I used to work at. They can, and eventually, will scratch the paint. If you use it to skim off most of the snow, so that it never actually touches the paint, then it works fine. I just use my arm to clear off the glass, then down the road I go. :D

I used my 10" Montana Boars Hair brush with telescopic handle to clear off the first snow we got; a little under an inch of snow/sleet/ice. Worked great!

A number of years ago I purchased what appears to be an industrial brush like the kind you would use with a dust pan only it has what I think is boars hair bristles that are quite long and soft and the handle is made with wood with the end being covered with a piece of leather to protect your paint or whatever from being damaged should you accidently hit your paint. This thing works great for getting MOST of the snow of.
