So Angry I could Cry

Reddwarf, sorry to hear about your Jag. I know the feeling. Hopefully it's not too bad. Keep us posted.

Good idea on adjusting the sensitivity.

I thought about raising the sensors too. I did have something blocking the sensor to avert this from happening but it was accidentally moved.

Here is the damage:

Thanks for all your sympathy. I feel better today. My Son actually wrote me a note about how sorry he was and offered to mow the yard for free until he earned enough to pay for the damage. I pay him a nominal amount to mow the yard. I told him not to worry, it was an accident and it's not his fault.

You're a good father, accidents happen and it's very thoughtful of him to even write you a note stating how he felt. Most kids would have blown it off and shrugged their shoulders saying "oh well"........or even laugh about it. Sounds like a good boy!

Ahh... Good kid! ;)

You've got a great kid there, Reddwarf. Comes from the upbringing.
I remember when my youngest (was in middle school then), knocked into my SUV with his guitar case. Left a crescent-shaped chip/scratch on it, plus a small dent. I blew up initially, but then calmed down and told him not to worry, that I'd fix it with my touch-up paint. Couldn't find him AND my touch-up paint an hour later. Went outside, and there he was painting away at that scratch. I wanted to yell, NO!! But I told him, that was good enough, and thank-you. I then cleaned it up, the best I could. This was pre-AG. LOL

Alban, that is funny. Sounds like a good kid. He obviously had good intentions. My son is the same. He is a good hearted kid, it's just that at 14 he doesn't use his brain much to think beyond his immediate self. I'm sure I was the same.

Like you, last night I was furious and sick about it. Today, I'm sanguine I can get it repaired like new. It's only money, right?

Teenagers, can't live with them, can't afford boarding school. - just kidding!

Red, you could always line the bottom of the garage door with some Cobra plushes!!!

Man Red those pictures look bad.....whoooooo man what do you have at the end of your garage door knives? ;)

I know what you mean about teenagers not being able to use there brain, I have a little brother about the same age and man sometimes I wonder if I was the same way and I feel sorry for my parent lol. But like you said we all go through it. I think it was an extremely nice gesture of your son to write you a note. To me that show's what you the parents have thought him.

Yes, you are correct it's just a scratch and it can be looking like new again in no time just will take some coin...but then again it's just money.

Thank you for sharing.

LOL. Reminds me of something I heard before too! A guy once said............................
I have 3 kids. 2 were adopted. Just couldn't find anyone to take the 3rd one. J/K!!

But you're right. At that young age, we just only think of what we want to do at that moment, and not really think it through before doing it.

Reddwarf, sorry about your car. I feel your pain bro. Last week my little girl hit the side of my truck with her bike. I'm glad she told me the truth about it. I have not fix it yet....

Reddwarf, it's good you feel better now. Sounds like you and your son have a great relationship. You can have those scratches fixed right up :). I remember my dad accidentally closed the garage on the Camry..he tried to rush to the garage door to trip the sensors, welp it failed, but hopefully someday we can fix it.
