So Cal residents

Well Della Lago is close by me and they had to evacuate, but my area Rolling Hills is advisory evacuation...I just packed up some stuff just in case.

Yep - it is truly awful.
No wind shifting directions - that is in my favor right now, knock on wood.
 
here's the update from my side. The fires have died down so it's pretty much no threat to us. I feel better now. I just hope Lauren and everyone out there is all well. Thanks everyone for your concern!
 
last night I was looking out my window and it looked like Armageddon. Red sky and brown air. It was crazy, wind everywhere, you cant even open your door.

My entire garage is covered with soot and so its the M5 :) And the door was shut all night!

I went out to get the mail and was covered in soot. Fun stuff. We never get "natural disasters" here in SOCAL so its kinda fun.

I know what you mean. It's a double edged sword. Same thing here with the hurricanes. When you find out the path has changed, you are happy until you realize others will be in danger.
 
Man, I hope you all stay safe that live over there, it sounds pretty bad. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and hope for your safety and the safety of your belongings and homes. Good luck to you all...

I would say go take some pictures and post up, but that would be wrong. Stay inside, put a sprinkler(or 5) on your roofs and in your yard and hope for the best. Keep us posted on your individual conditions/situations.
 
We had to evacuate =( but I hope our house will be ok. Right now I'm in my cousin's house it's just a few miles away from my house. The police knocked on our door and I think we were the last people to leave our house. We were just packing up stuff, but I trust the firefighters and I have hope in them. There's a helicoptor or two spreading water over the fire near my house. Everybody stay safe out there!

On the news I have never seen so many houses burnt you the ground. Very sad to see. I wish all you southern California people the best.

Good luck, Klumzypinoy - I am still a possible evacuatee too- praying not!!

TWO people thus far that I work with lost EVERYTHING. Luckily, no people or pets. We will see where that number goes.

Dennis, always a sweetie! Hey, how is that new truck doing since you got rid of the green Taurus? (It was a Taurus, right?)

Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh - I think our pool needs to be drained entrely and it is like not even three........

Thanks Lauren, I just care about others that's all. I've been down on my luck before and know what it's like-----I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Unfortunately, my father in law passed away 3 weeks ago The Blazer was left to my wife and her sister in which we bought out her half because they wanted me to have it. The Blazer is very nice. In the middle of a polishing job right now. I have been slowly experimenting with different products/pads to get the best results. When I first got it I used 360 on one side and DG 501 on the other. They both came out nice and have been topped with several different products for testing. I hadn't polished it for a year and noticed the 360 and 501 didn't get all the swirls/blemishes out the first time around so now I have it in the garage and have polished one side so far with Menz. 106ff w/ on orange light cut pad and applied a coat of PB EX sealant on that side. I received a sample of EX and wanted to try it. I will top it with Souveran this weekend if I get the chance and will post up some pics. The Taurus didn't have a/c or heat(it's ok, I'm tough), so I am luvin' the a/c. I'm sure in a couple of months I will enjoy the heat as well. It's a very nice vehicle inside and out. Dennis, I am sorry to hear about your loss; i have been through so many major deaths I can't tell you, so I sorta understand.
I think you guys made the right call on the Blazer; besides, hewanted you guys to have it, right? (My son's Honda was my Mom's car; it was given to me, but I kept it and I saved it for him when she passed.)
Love to know what you think of the 106ff!! Hope you will share some photos!! Enjoy and drive safely. thanks for the thoughtfulness! i can't complain.
